OP you're only getting the flame treatment because, as you can plainly see, that mod is considered cheap garbage with no real function and can cause problems in certain situations (you may or may not be able to avoid those situations). I personally view them as a safety hazard :twocents:

Mike the Powdercoater does great work and would be the best option in terms of quality, longevity, and you're helping out the forum and a great sponsor

People in Austin just dont get it, I guess.

I do..I just haven't ever taken them apart or anything. As far as I knew they could have been a cover over the upgraded brakes :ugh2:

I figured this would be an epic thread when I first read it a couple of hours ago. I wasn't going to say anything but.......OP, it's your car car, it's your money. Do with it as you please, BUT please take in some of the things these guys are trying to tell you. I seen these covers on a few cars. Talking with the people who have them. They always have trouble keeping them on after awhile. A couple of weeks and they're back at it. Powdercoating is your best bang for your money. Talk to Mike on here. He did my sport calipers.

Looks very similar (maybe the same) to Candy Apple Red that was popular back in the '60-70s.

Whatever ya call it, it looks great on your calipers.
