KWv3 - hear nothing but good things...

Amuse370z 11-01-2012 04:13 PM

Thoughts on the HKS hypermax 3s? I heard the 4s are out now too.

I've used their higher end stuff like the Koni 2812 and while it is made strong it just doesn't compare well to the other high end shocks like Penske and JRZ.

Couldn't agree more with ya

Ever thought about going with Swift Springs and Koni Yellows? Though they're not coilovers...Swifts by themselves improve the ride over stock exponentially. My car rides smoother now than it ever did on stock springs. If you want a bit stiffer ride...you can pair them with the Koni shocks (which are adjustable by the way) and then dial in your stiffness.

Edit: Going with this combo will cost you around half of what you're budgeting. Then you can throw the extra money into other mods. :)

In your sig, you went with 15mm H&R spacers; that's DRS one right? To avoid any vibrations?

I'm thinking of going 20mm in the front, and 25 in the rear with base wheels i already have the 25mm Ichiba spacers I can use for the rear.

Let me know if you've got any vibration issues btw, otherwise I'll pull the trigger on the 20mm DRS.

Vnismo370z 11-01-2012 10:52 PM

what about a good strut/spring option?

homeryansta 11-01-2012 11:04 PM

I have BC on my sentra and no complaints(I had Ksports before and it is garbage). 7k/7k. My Z is still stock though :(

Vnismo370z 11-01-2012 11:23 PM

I had bc on my g35 and hated 'em...car was too bouncy at all the way soft and tried different settings and couldn't get a comfy ride... couldn't find a happy medium..

DR_ 11-02-2012 06:33 AM

That is the problem often with the lower end shocks, no adjustment for compression and not enough adjustment of rebound to be able to be soft for the street and firm for the track. With my BC Racing ER series I have 12k front, 10k rear Swift springs and it literally feels like stock on the soft settings.

Hey bud!

I have them installed for over 8 months and not once have I felt any vibration with them. I say pull the trigger man...you'll be really happy with them!

KW V3, thing is if you dont know what your doing when it comes to the damper settings, or you dont know someone who does, then you can easily make them ride like crap if you playing with the settings with no knowledge or experience. I can get a V3 to ride worse then a chinese coilover if i wanted to with improper rebound and compression settings, but at the same time you can get them riding better then stock when they are setup correctly

1 .5 years running h&r spacers 20/25 and no vibration. Just get h&r on all four corners and call it a day.

Z1 20/25mm no vibrations after 3 months and the setup is perfect. BC BR coils...ride is ok for setting on medium. Nothing to write home about.

Baer383 11-04-2012 09:22 AM

I had H&R and had vibration changed to Z1 all is well:driving:
