While I definitely want a set regardless of spherical or rubber bushing, a set with rubber bushings would be preferred since my autocross class doesn't allow switching to all metal bushings/spherical.

guru 11-05-2012 09:51 PM

hopefully both options will be offered. payment ready as soon as u guys are ready!

gomer_110 11-14-2012 09:23 PM

Dwnshift 11-16-2012 03:16 PM

Will you be making announcement on pricing and quantity available, and approx turn time for the second batch?

sixpax 11-17-2012 07:19 AM

... are the front's adjustable for alignment purposes ?

Dwnshift 11-17-2012 07:23 AM

Sorry.... Little one grabbed the iPod.
Not sure if there will be a second batch. Depends on the demand and the program for 2013.

Dwnshift 11-17-2012 07:24 AM

Sixpax... Are you referring to caster adjustment?
We tested some parts at barer and more can be added than stock.

For everyone that thinks that the Doran arms will never make it onto a Z34 other than the Doran car, here's proof that you're all wrong. Unfortunately I don't have a heated garage at home though so the install might be a month or 2 from now.

It's ok to be jealous.

Congrats Gomer, are you just sitting in your hotel room playing with those? :icon17:

No. I'm actually uploading around 1700 pictures from the practice sessions and races today to photobucket. Here's hoping the hotel internet doesn't suck as much as it did yesterday.

SPOHN 01-25-2013 09:19 PM

I don't see a pic

Lol! One set not ever installed on a street car. Let us know how they work out later this year. They look pretty

I tend to stick to parts most resellers carry. Specialized stuff tends to be a pain especially low volume parts like these arms. When I had little run in with curb I had replacement arm from SPC next day.

good point there Shamu. When I had a little run-in with curbing at Carolina Motorsports park, I was able to replace my rear spc piece that bent quickly too. Never thought about the possibility of a mishap with these.

HKYStormFront 01-26-2013 08:25 PM

while that is a very valid point, watch this starting at the 17min mark:

Mike Skeen: 2012 Nissan 370Z Watkins Glen - YouTube

i saw the front PS arm when Dustin and I visited the Doran shop. it just had a small nick in the finish. simply amazing for such a hard hit that actually warped the car itself.

Dwnshift 01-26-2013 08:26 PM

Im too tired to find the guy with the rolling eyes so......
Rolling my eyes
I encourage him to provide any feed back good or bad to make our product better.
The products that we produce are intended for the track and have survived the full contact realm of real world racing in the Conti series.
If you are not seriously tracking your car....Im gonna go out on a limb and say our products are most likely not for you.
We are not a mass production parts company....but I can tell you the parts that come out of the shop are superior quality and true race spec parts.
As I type this right now there are more than a couple GT cars as well as DPs that are currently lapping under the lights ...full bore ..here at Daytona with uprights , hubs, or various suspension arms that were designed , machined or fabricated at our shop.
Just sayin

First you give them crap and say that they will never produce the arms, then you give them crap AFTER they've produced and sold them.

How about, since you have nothing constructive to say EVER on the topic of Doran racing or their parts you just take your constant thread crapping elsewhere. BJ has been nothing but polite and patient with you and yet at every turn you give these guys grief.. Enough is enough Shamu.

gomer_110 01-26-2013 08:39 PM

Just to share what Kevin Doran told me about his philosphy on suspension component design:

The suspension component should be able to survive any abuse short of something that would bust up the wheel.

Seems pretty valid to me.

And how many soft and all natural hugs will it cost to get a set?

Dwnshift 01-27-2013 05:19 PM

I said hugs are free...not of any actual real world monetary value!
;)

YOW! Didn't you have SPL camber arms? Those things are beefy.

fuct 03-11-2013 05:06 PM

yea martin82 what camber arms did you have?

SPOHN 03-11-2013 05:10 PM

Rear camber arms snapped. Damn. Something is wrong with this picture. Either SPC or SPL, both are super strong. I cant't help but think something may be at play. In for more info. What exactly gave away?

martin82 03-11-2013 05:40 PM

I'll have more info very soon with pictures to get people's thought as well!

wstar 03-11-2013 06:21 PM

Was there anything unusual in your setup that could've contributed by putting more stress on it? Unusual alignment, large spacers, very wide wheels, etc? I'm just trying to keep myself from being paranoid next time I'm out in mine.

martin82 03-11-2013 06:26 PM

I run 18x10.5" +30 with a 15mm spacer, so nothing crazy. I snapped when car was on full compression, after landing a hill at the track... I will check to see if it hit anything else (spring perch maybe?)

Dwnshift 03-11-2013 08:36 PM

Any off track excursions recently? Curbs?
