Interested in a GB also. So do the Koni's turn the rear into a coil over shock setup or just replace the existing rear shocks?

they haven't officially announced details, but I imagine it will be a drop in replacement-- highly unlikely they will bother swapping the rear to a true "coil over"

Hmmm... I think I'm being sold on these swifts and koni combo. A fixed setup might work out well. If the price is right. I might go with GB on koni's? Might save me a few hundred bucks that route and can put extra cash towards fi??? :)

You can't go wrong with Koni. I'm sure they'll match up real well with the Swifts.

I just don't know how much money you'll save. A Koni set for the 350s is a bit over $1,000 (on TireRack), so the 370 will probably be close to that. So you have to add another couple hundred bucks for the springs and you're then in entry-level coil over territory. Actually, you can get the BC BR coilovers for about $1k even.

So, unless they do some great introductory pricing (Koni does 20% off sales from time to time) it probably won't save you much. Unless of course you were looking at the KW V3s and decided to go Koni... then you save. But there will likely be a couple inexpensive coilover options in the Koni price range.

But as you stated before, I would rather have a Koni/Swift setup than a cheap coilover setup.

So who's gonna be the first vendor to get this group buy going? :ugh2: gotta get all the parts together before the spring :excited:

Had Koni Yellows /HR on the 350Z and did not like that they were not adjustable for rebound just compression. Over rated unless re-valved (big $$$) Did not pair up well with H&R. Would rather lay down my wad on some KW3's. Only nice feature of Koni yellows is you can replace one strut vs other mfg's that hit you up for a pair if one blows a seal. But then Swifts changed my mind over Eibach, who knows they may pair up well over the Swifts.....someone buy a set when they become available. Hopefully Koni will use the same technology for adjusting the rears.

Im sure they will pair better w Swifts than H&R.

Anyone have their stock shocks/struts blow from using Swifts? I may jump on the bandwagon if it is a subtle drop. I am weary of lowering because of the roads near military bases suck!

/\ still beats the $4K I might be spending on JRZs though. If the koni yellows paired itht the swift spec R springs give me an improvemetn in handling over the stock nismo suspension it would be a worthwhile cheap option (I'm not expecting to get the kind of performance like I would out of the JRZ setup obviously, just an improvment over stock setup).

I totally agree with everyone here….the Koni + Swift Spec-R was a great seat up, true it won’t compare to a high end coilover but it will be much better over stock and over cheap coilover set up..

Not to forget they are rebuildable….. When I had the 350z, I did run them, also installed white line sway bars…..handle great. But I would only recommend this set up to guys that are not weekend warriors at the track, but would be great for daily driving and canyon runs…..time to time on the track but don’t expect to be shaving massive seconds with this particular setup…

KamiSpeed 01-11-2012 04:15 PM

they've been released:

fronts are $388 each MSRP
rears are $360 each MSRP

PM me for more info :)

GaleForce 01-11-2012 05:10 PM

I had Koni's on a Civic years ago... They had an adjustable spring perch on them. Do the ones for the 370z have the adjustable spring perch?

I would guess no, because of the rear set-up, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Red__Zed 01-11-2012 05:33 PM

Wow Msrp does not compare favorably to v3s

TerribleONE 01-11-2012 05:37 PM

wow pretty pricey... interested to read a review. especially with them being priced very close with a set of springs as the KW3s...
