I have a 2010, so I'm not sure if there was a change for the '11s. But I'm guessing there aren't ducts. Just the marketing department and engineering department not communicating. Car and Drivers best handling cars under 40,000 was a 2011 z and they still had brake fade.

Damn, that's a bummer if it's just advertising bs.

Yeah but I drive yours while you're at work.

I think the "purpose-designed ducting" might be the vents inside the rotors.

Yeh, thought I read that a member about the same time ModShack ported the panel NEXT to the fangs for air flow to G3. This member had photos of the mod under the car with some crazy venting that looked like it came out of HAV parts bin. Dunno what ever came about it, perhaps?

Why can't Nissan sell the brake ducts in the 2012 Nismo RC as an aftermarket part?

kenchan 11-09-2011 08:58 PM

check the general section. passwordjdm is doing a front brake port in CF for us. :p

Went to the downtown Nashville dealership today (they're always great, props to them) to investigate the 2012s.

I was able to find the same line in the print marketing:

And look at this:

Too bad that's on the MAXIMA!

Here is the Z, and it's the same for all variants (base/sport/MT/auto):

So despite the literature, sadly, there is no brake ducting on 2012 370Zs.

nooooooooooo, tell me this isnt true ^ lol fml, dammmit i wanted those ducts

MattP725 11-12-2011 09:17 PM

Your not getting much cooling with just some vents in front of the tire... you need them coming from behind the wheel IMO.

So I tried taking pictures from under the car tonight (YES! My car arrived today, please see the Bonzo game thread for details), but I didn't have much luck. It was dark and I couldn't see. Besides, has anyone yet discovered this car is really close to the ground!!! ;):icon17:

Here's the pics I did get.....not that they show anything... sorry.

Cheers! Bonzo
