SPL front adjustable control arm FYI

I just got this reply from sales @ SPL about their front control arms for the 370Z.

Hi Scott,

It is in development right now but we have no ETA on availability...
============================

Well, I just looked at my front tires after two AX events and only 8500 street miles and the front outside tread corners are toast. I'd like to bump up the front camber to 2.0 degrees but if I don't like the SPC arms (our only choice for now) it looks like I'm out of luck.

I think that's been their response since the beginning. I wouldn't hold your breath.

I give up on them. It seemS like it was 4 years before they released there's for the 350. Not like there's that much change from the 350 to the 370. They should already a great idea of what changes have to be made. It's sad especially being they make a great product.

Talked to SPL again yesterday. Again the same spill as always. "Few more months". I replied that's the third time in 8 months I've heard that. He was speechless.

ProPartsUSA 06-27-2013 01:11 PM

Yea I've been in contact with them too. It's been a few more months the past few years.

martin82 06-27-2013 01:42 PM

From my info the arms are approved for production but it will take 3 months due to a backlog of other arms, I assume probably GTR arms being made? not sure...

Why worry about SPL front arms when SPC seem to work great? Am I missing something?

Fixed that for you.

In all seriousness, without modification, the SPC parts are sketchy @ keeping their setting on the track, and they're steel rather than aluminum, which some people care about.

My rear SPC camber arm broke while at the track, it snapped right where the threads start on the middle section, the bushings were destroyed as well. The front spc camber arm bushings are dead also...

Yup. Used the SPC front control arms for 3 years. Replaced the bushings twice and the upper ball joints twice as a result. They are cheap but you have to take into consideration the annual costs of replacing all the parts. FYI replacing the bushings on them is a pain and will require a good machine shop.

SPOHN 06-27-2013 03:59 PM

Wish SPC would just change there bushing to a solid setup. Or make it a option. But Baer383 has the best DIY option for the SPC arms.

So SPC sucks? Go with SPL?
