How much different with sport and nismo suspension
Need some help gettin some answers. I wanted to know the difference from a sport package Z and a Nismo Z. Seen some Nismo springs for sale so The real question is how much do Nismo springs drop a Z compared to Sport. Also want to know the ride comfort aswell.
|
Spec says 0.4 inches - I measured a 0.1 inch rise with my install. The Nismo s-tune suspension will change your ride comfort. Out of a maximum ride smoothness
of 10, I'd rate the sport suspension a 6 and the s-tune about a 3. I went with Stillen sway bars rather than the Nismo units. |
I picked up the Nismo springs and struts. Very happy with them.
Very stiff at first, but softens a bit after a few hundred miles. Handles much better and I found both taking off from a dead stop and braking to be improved -- less overall chassis movement. If you can find a set for a good price, grab them. Best bang for the buck, and you know they are properly matched for the vehicle. |

Correct. Your ride height will not change very much at all although the specs say it should be 0.4 inches lower. It will be noticeably stiffer than the sport - but the handling will be much more precise, especially with some stiffer sway bars.

I have a set of Nismo springs and struts sitting in my dining room. I got them from a member on here for a real good deal. I also have a set of Eibach sways too.
I will try to post a review when I get them on in the spring. There seems to be little information on here about putting Nismo struts and springs on a sport model. |
Does anyone know if the Nismo S-Tune struts and springs (as offered in the Nismo parts and accessories brochure) are the same as the ones that come on the 370Z Nismo from the factory?
|
^The S-tune exhaust is not the same as the stock Nismo, so this is a good question.
|
Really, how are they different to the OEM Nismo suspension?
|
According to my mechanic (that installed my suspension), there is no difference visually in the parts. They look identical. Is there a difference between S-tune and the suspension on the Nismo?
|
To the best of my knowledge, the S-tune spring/struts and OEM Nismo ones are the same.
|
I might have to keep my eye out on a used set from someone that is getting aftermarket coil overs for their Nismo. I wouldn't mind my suspension to be a bit firmer for Autox and track use, but I don't feel the need to lower the car, I still want to be able to drive it on the crappy roads around Chicago year round. So the Nismo suspension sounds like the way to go.

Wifes Forester to get to work. But tomorrow I will have to brave the second half of the blizzard in the Z. |

The OEM Nismo and Nismo S-Tune shocks are not the same
I'm willing to bet the OEM Nismos are stiffer.
2011 370Z Nismo part numbers ($1,030 total for all parts listed below IF ordered from a discount Nissan dealer. The '09 and '10 Nismo part numbers are slightly different, probably a revision for '11.) right front shock = E6A10-1A30B left front shock = E6A11-1A30B front springs = E4010-1A30E x2 rear shocks = E6B10-1A30E x2 rear springs = E5020-1A30E x2 Nismo S-Tune "Low Down Kit" $840 kit part number = E3110-1EA00US The part numbers below are what is in the kit. These part numbers can't be ordered separately. right front shock = E6110-1EA25 left front shock = E6111-1EA25 front springs = E4010-1EA00 x2 rear shocks = E6210-1EA25 x2 rear springs = E5020-1EA00 x2 |

I haven't heard of anyone running the S-tune suspension on their car yet on the forum.
Myself and a few others on here are running the OEM Nismo suspension though. |
I'm running the NISMO S-tune "Low Down" springs and dampers on my 2012 sport/touring coupe. I also have the Hotchkis sway bars, and SPL end links. The ride is a little stiffer than the sport/touring was, but I like it. It did drop the car about 1/2-3/4 inch. I've had them on the car since Oct 2012 and put about 20,000 miles on them.

I wonder what the actual differences are -- might it be same specs different manufacturers? Did they change p/n's for the exhausts? -- they are badged as HKS now. |

i have a 2012 factory Nismo, the factory rear shocks/struts were terrible. super stiff and very bouncy. i ended up replacing the factory Nismo rear struts with the 2013 factory sport shocks/ struts. what a difference that made. handles like i want it to and rides way better. :tiphat:

I just bought a full set of low mileage 2019 OEM Nismo struts /shocks and springs for my non sport 2010 roadster. Are the newer Nismo struts and springs different than the older Nismo suspension pieces? Any more feedback from those of you who did the swap?

I installed newer Nismo springs and struts/shocks. The front is higher by 1/4" but the rear is like a 4x4..over an inch higher. Springs from nismo are longer. Am I missing something??
|
Do you have the rear springs sitting in the spring buckets correctly?

I'm pretty sure. The Nismo springs are longer and thicker wire. In the photo,, the nismo is on top.
|
Wow.....that's a whole coil. :icon14:
|
Rear lower control arms are the same for all years and models of 370z. That contains the spring bucket.
|
Arent 2015+ nismo springs…red?
I dont think you have the right part On a hunch i googled G37 springs and those do appear to be longer than 370z springs, so whoever you bought those springs fron may have mixed some stuff up |

Color is right. OEM 09-14 Nismo is red. OEM 15+ Nismo is black.
I measured the rear spring at around 11 1/8 inches, outer end to outer end. Does look like a G37 spring. I remember G37 guys using 370z front springs to lower their G’s, but not the 370z rear springs because it’ll be way too low and soft. |

I also need to correct myself. My 15+ ones are indeed black
The color change is due to the 09-14 nismo having much stiffer springs than 15+, when nismo softened the suspension |

Or Don’t be a wimp, call fortune auto and spl and do it right |

I plugged in a 16 Nismo vin and got rear spring part number 55020-1EA0B (confirmed different part number than my 09 Nismo). Where did you get the spring from? |
And how do we know if the front springs are even from a 370z? Since G and Z springs are both black, and we are quite sure the rear springs are NOT for a 370z....
