Caliper Covers

I have the gray base model and really like the look of the red brake calipers. However, I do not like the price of a new set of brakes since I think the ones I have are great. A friend of mine who has a new Camero said he was buying red Caliper Covers for his car. I did a search and could not find any for the 370Z. I was wondering if anyone has seen brake caliper covers for the 370Z. If so where? I really don't have the time or know how to have the ones on the car now powder coated. Any help would be nice. Thanks...

I actually saw some in ebay. They were around 30-50 bucks? for front and back. They were brembo covers (made in china).

But you sure you wanna put those silly things on our nice sports cars?? I'd rather paint the stock calipers with those caliper paint. No need for powder coating. Look around the photo albums and some of the members did some awesome job painting their calipers...not to mention they look great

definitionxmk 01-27-2011 06:49 AM

hehe, for ***** and giggles... I actually bought one of those. Took like 2 months for it to come in from Malaysia -_-' It now sits back home in a drawer. Someday, I'll use it for "best rice" competition at a car show.

I think they are universal. You just have to cut them to fit... if you're serious.

Jeffblue 01-27-2011 06:57 AM

get some G2 caliper paint and paint your brake calipers if you want them red and you dont want to spend the money for a BBK/powedercoating it. It costs about 50 bucks and you can do it yourself.

i did on my altima, it was pretty easy.

it's super rice, they don't provide any functionality, probably get in the way when you have to change the pads. No matter how cool they look, why would anyone want to glue a piece of plastic to their brake caliper?

spearfish25 01-27-2011 09:15 AM

You could just put on red tinted glasses and look directly at your calipers.

bullitt5897 01-27-2011 09:20 AM

hey you aint somebody until you got caliper covers! All the pros are doin it!!!

cheshirecat 01-27-2011 09:31 AM

Please don't. If you can't do it correctly, don't do it at all.

gbrettin 01-27-2011 09:56 AM

+1 on what JeffBlue said.

cheshirecat 01-27-2011 10:16 AM

I disagree. Unless you have a BBK, you don't need to bring more attention to your baby brakes. If you're going to paint them, paint them black so you can't see them.

Granted, it's your car- do what you want with it. However, just keep in mind that contrasting caliper colors are generally reserved for upgraded brake kits.

Not really, alot of stock brakes come in contrasting caliper colors.

Red__Zed 01-27-2011 10:27 AM

If you want them red, or some other color, it's not difficult to paint them. Caliper covers are pretty tacky, and can actually cause cooling problem with the caliper.

DavidTrife 01-27-2011 11:01 AM

+1 Really easy to paint. OP I bet you can get a buddy or a shop to do it for real cheap. Probably cheaper than the plastic covers. Just make sure to use caliper paint as it puts up with the heat generated by the braking system. If you are too lazy to clean them off before painting, just spray some brake cleaner all over them and blow them out with an air gun after so they are completely dry. Really easy.

Please don't get calipers covers.... our cars are classy as they are....

kenchan 01-27-2011 01:28 PM

99.99% of the public will not notice your non-sport package brakes.

the moment you paint them or put silly covers on people will notice how tacky it is.

this is true.

ChrisSlicks 01-27-2011 03:54 PM

The only reason I would buy caliper covers would be to put them on someone else's car and then make fun of it.

Red__Zed 01-27-2011 03:56 PM

^ valid reason.
