You'll definitely need a shop to do the alignment. Should cost more in the $100-120 range. Make sure the shop has an actual alignment machine also.

It's not terribly difficult to do some of it yourself. You can use google to get started finding some resources.

It's also worth making friends with someone who works at a shop. I don't pay for alignments, or basic stuff done to the car, and I just tip the guy who does the work.

Do It Yourself Alignment Tips

Here's a link to check out. I still recommend finding a shop to help you out though.

Thanks! On stock tires here and I think 20/25 would be perfect. Might change it up to that soon.

Thanks, your stance and drop with spacers reassure me that I am going down the correct path. Car looks great!

As others have chimed in on I second it have it done at a shop. I have never paid over $75 for an alignment on a quality Hunter rack.

I guess I will throw a couple in as well: Swift springs, SP Rays, and 20mm spacers.

Stance is looking aggressive. What size tire are you running up front?

ZForce 04-19-2011 11:18 PM

Hey bigdog1250, what size spacers are you running up front? They look like 15mm.

Thanks! Just the stock 245 width RE050 tires up front and stock 275s in the rear although I will eventually go 255 front 285 rear with some RE11s.

Yep, they are your old 15s! They should look more flush once I get the car aligned and the top of the wheel get pushed out a bit more (reducing the negative camber). I plan on going 255s in the front and 295 in the rear once my tires go, so I wanted room to slap on bigger meat. Otherwise I'd have gone with 20/25 like you.

Looks like an awesome drop. I think I'll go a bit wider on my spacers though when I order mine.

*Note my camber is pretty negative right now, so the tops of the wheels will be pushed out more after the alignment (should look more flush). Also if you plan on going with bigger rubber down the line, 15x20 spacers are the better choice.

If you're staying with the stocks tire sizes, 20x25 might be the wiser choice. Either way I'll have better pics up on Saturday showing the car Post-alignment. And i'll use a better camera so the lighting will be better.

That combo should look great. I am pulling the trigger next week on RE-11's 265/35/19 & 285/35/19 mounted on 20mm & 25mm spacers.

I could not remember what combo you got from me. Looks good, I agree, more flush with less negative camber in the rear. I am taking a chance on my tire combo (mentioned above) but I thinik I have done enough research and seen enough pics to just go for it. I have not seen anyone with this combo setup, so a first. Check the tire ratios on whatever you go with. I could not get you the alignment specs, no scanner, but posted the formula on alignment specs a few posts back, if interested.

Post up some after alignment pics, please.

Save the date: 5/21/11 for my run. Check out the zonc website.

Well i took the advice that you guys gave. I am going to a shop for the alignment. I convinced them but i have to take off my front bumper to do so. Thanks for all the imput though, greatly appreciated.

What is the difference between Sport Springs and Spec-R? A vendor had to refund my purchase because they had the Sport Springs, as opposed to Spec-R. I wasn't aware there are two Swifts available for the 370Z.

They are the same thing. The box just says sport springs. Look on their website. They are called sport springs spec r.

Thanks! Just found the Swift PDF, they only make one spring for the 370Z. Looks like the vendor was a little confused.

Edit: Turns out it was a packaging error on Swifts part. Ah, well. Ordered a new set from Corner3 for super cheap.

How cheap? Kamispeed on here has them at a great price shipped!
