KW HLS (Hydraulic Lift System)

What do you guys think about this? Does anyone on here have these installed on their 370z or any car for that matter? Here is the link

KW hydraulic lift system /// KW HLS helps lowered vehicles with low ground clearance to clear obstacles

ATL_Red_G35 04-08-2010 09:17 AM

awesome, same concept used in many other kits (Roberuta for example).

I wish they'd make this mainstream. I wonder if this kit works for all KW coils.

twotonezed 04-08-2010 09:52 AM

I think that system is great. I was wondering if any other manufacturers would ever come out with a system like that.

370Zsteve 04-08-2010 09:56 AM

Ugh, so much added weight :shakes head:

209Z 04-08-2010 02:54 PM

it says it fits 370z..wonder how much

phelan 04-08-2010 02:59 PM

probably ~5k USD

I doubt it works with other KW coils, my KW V3's does not have a tank on the sides of the tube. They never made this for the G37 when there was some feeler threads....

209Z 04-09-2010 12:43 AM

i really am interested in finding this out.

phelan 04-09-2010 01:08 AM

odd, i thought KW said the system was universal?

Midnight Run 04-09-2010 04:48 AM

wow.. this is awesome!

add to my wish list.. :D

JB-370z 04-09-2010 08:33 AM

Whats the price tag on these?? The 911 has something similar but not so agressive.
-If it is 5K I would not bother however I am in the market for a coilover system but I am looking a kw v3's or hks hipermax lll's, if this is light weight and only like 1.5k more I will consider. But without any reviews or more info is seems gemiky.

ATL_Red_G35 04-09-2010 08:37 AM

The system MSRP is quite expensive, if not, more than the roberuta cup. The current "cheapest" solution would be the VRH system custom made by Umbrella Auto Designs. Downside is the wait time and you'd have to send them your coilovers for custom fabrication :)

JB-370z 04-09-2010 08:51 AM

And thats a negitive G-Rider. There is a reason everyone does not have these on there ride. Feture over implimentation is not always good, take Microsoft Windows for example.

Huh? How's this related to my previous post?

I agree that not everyone needs this. But the concept is pretty awesome and beneficial.

bezzita 08-22-2010 09:06 AM

Anyone got these installed yet?

ClemsonWill 08-23-2010 10:46 AM

I have never seen these before. It's a great idea. I could really use them getting into my driveway.

If the price tag is ~$5k that seems a bit steep.

merry558 09-07-2010 03:06 AM

wow...its really awesome..what guys you think about this hydraulic lift system...we can lift any heavy machinery with this system easily

merry558 09-07-2010 11:06 PM

The HLS provides additional road clearance for lowered vehicles.HLS is available in two different versions: HLS 2 which is fitted to the front axle and HLS 4 which can be attached to the front and rear axle and allows lifting the entire vehicle.

is that really the price?!?!

ClemsonWill 09-09-2010 08:16 AM

I don't think that is the price. There is no way that there is a $5k difference between the 997 and 370z.

rshen1030 09-12-2010 04:01 PM

has anyone installed yet?

ncheung85 09-14-2010 01:59 AM

Interesting....I'm currently in the market for a set of coilover. I'll probably get these if the price is good.

Jamaica 09-14-2010 02:10 AM

Kw are good coilovers!

OMGWTFBBQ 09-14-2010 03:08 AM

I'm pretty sure you can ask anyone who has them on this forum, it's pretty unanimous that we all love our KW V3's.

... although I kind of wish I had gotten the Robispec ones from the beginning.

Liquid_G 01-04-2012 10:48 PM

Bump from hell.. Searched and found this thread. Anyone here running this or the Umbrella ones??

Chi-City-G 01-18-2012 09:16 AM

Hey Gene, I actually just ran across this tread as well in a google search trying to look a bit more into this. I have e-mailed KW for all info regarding cost and complete setup and function for this on my G, I am sure it will not be much different for the Z's. I asked them to explain their system compared to Umbrella's as well. I will update you when I have a response.

kchu221 01-18-2012 11:42 AM

you guys should just get the roberuta cup kit, that thing is amazing...

Ksport 01-18-2012 12:17 PM

Ive sold a few of these at my old job (Vivid) and they were up there is price, iirc you have to use the KW v3 set up with them plus the HLS. Last set I sold was in the 8k range.

Liquid_G 01-18-2012 04:36 PM

^ so if KWv3's are around 2k, that puts the HLS at 6k? Was that front only or front and rear?

I emailed Umbrella a few days ago, only info I got back was they offer front only for our cars and its ~$2400

370Ztune 01-18-2012 05:07 PM

HLS is a great kit, we just had a customer get one for his GT-R and he loves it. It's not a cheap kit though...

Ron 01-23-2012 08:42 AM

sub'd for updates. Very interested on these.

vividracing 01-24-2012 12:37 PM

I got some details on this.
There are 2 different set ups. One for just the front, and one for the full car.
It is only guaranteed to fit KW Brand Coil overs. It is essentially a little air system. You replace the lower spring seat with the one supplied in the HLS system. It uses a mini compressor to air up giving you 1.5 to 2 inches of lift. It then holds this height for 15-20 seconds and automatically airs it down.
I got some pricing on it, but its crazy expensive.
