Default Going back from coilovers to regular shocks/struts?

I bought a set of KW V1 coilovers here used from a member a few years back.

Now I am thinking they are worn out - my understanding at the time was these are not rebuildable. I am feeling some skittering when hitting bumps, felt like when my old shocks were going bad - both on this car and on my Tahoe.

So I guess I need to replace, but I am thinking I just need to go back to original style. I think I still have my springs from when they were taken off.

This is what were on the car when I bought them:

Swift Spec-R springs(1-1.5" drop)
Whiteline adjustable front & rear sway bars
SPC Rear Camber kit with toe bolts (from B2 Auto Designs)

How hard would it be to go back to original? I know when I got my coilovers my mechanic had some trouble, took him a bit of research and learning how to install them - he was an old guy who'd never done that stuff before, but he got it done. I'm not sure what all changes in the mounting and such when you go from shocks/struts to coilovers and what I would need to replace to go back to the original? Can someone point me in the right direction? Cost is a factor in keeping me from a replacement set of coilovers. I think I can get decent/quality shocks and struts for 1/2-1/3 of the cost of even inexpensive coilovers. This car really gets driven very little (just passed 100k on Jan 23rd, currently has about 100,750 on it) so I don't think it's worth putting a lot of money into it right now.

I'd appreciate any guidance you guys can offer me. I'd like to keep replacement shocks/struts under $500, as I am pretty sure I am going to need new tires as well. Plus the alignment to go with all of this.

Thanks.
