Any opinions/experiences or insight between:

> Ksport Kontrol coil ( http://www.ksportusa.com/asp/coilove...roduct_id=cd01 )
> D2 Racing RS coil ( http://www.d2racing.com/content/products/RS_coilovers )
> BC Racing BR coil ( http://www.bcracing-na.com/bcproduct.html )

Was going Stance but i've waited for them since Dec. 16th and still don't have a definite ETA. These are not the best and i understand but i am in college so i will NOT be spending close to 2k for coils (aka Tein, KW, etc). With that said i kind of like the Ksport but don't know much about them...yet

Edit: seems Stance shipment now "has" actually landed and i would be getting the Stance coils pretty soon. Now do i believe this or not

i've heard bad things about BC racing, but i've never used so that's about all i can say.

same here, never really heard about BC :tiphat:. Reason i'm leaning towards Ksport is because i've heard of them before through some Honda friends.

Ksport, D2, BC, Megan all the same genre of coilover. Not my favs at all.

Megan, BC, and KSport got good reviews when I had my Subaru Legacy GT.
I think BC were designed better of the 3 due to the collar adjustment and tub design.

All in all, if you go for the more affordable CO, look to see how available replacement parts will be and cost. Just in case after 30k miles, you have a leaking strut, you can replace them easily and for about $100.

I had GPMoto Coilovers and they were located in Seattle WA and got great service and replacement parts for my Subie, but I think they were closing down....So bigger companies have staying power, ie Cusco, Tein

Never had them, but a lot of people even on other forums always seem to metion KW in terms of ride and decent trackability.

I've had HKS on the last several cars and really like them as well. The new ones for the Z have an upper mount (not always incl with some KW's) that still has a rubber bushing so it's not as harsh and they are 30 way adjustable. Also the height does not effect the spring rate like some coilovers. I'd look at those too.

i understand that from reading some of your previous posts. do you have any insight or knowledge on any of them though?

anyways.....looks like i will be waiting for the Stance coils one more week. Hopefully this time they will come in, as they are the coils i want.

I had the D2's on my IS300. you get what you pay for. everything from their choice of spring rates to its damping abilty was very unimpressive.

the purple anodizing was purdy, but thats it.

Good info!! I didn't know they had the rubber bushing. That's what I would have liked for the Megan coilovers.
Curious on weather the KWs use a rubber mount also??

I'm learning the hard way. I've only known German vehicle products in the past!! (past cars)

tell me why ksport looks exactly like gr+ stance. I know only one vendor that is has Gr+ PRO stance for the 370z. Thinking to get those. If not save up and get the teins. Go big or go home lmao...

bluestyle55 03-06-2010 05:08 PM

Are the KW V3's twin tube or mono tube?

cab83_750 03-07-2010 01:02 AM

In case I can't wait for the Bilsteins, can someone PM me on who has the best price on the BC Coilovers?

The dirty little secret is that most of these $1000 coilover sets are made by the same company in china and a different label is slapped on them. We have been approached to carry out own line of brakes and coilovers by the sam companies that make this stuff. We passed. Not enough rd and thought/real testing that goes into many of these products. You would be shocked to know how much those coilovers are imported for. :)

speedworks 03-07-2010 08:41 AM

^^Sharif, since you aren't involved, which companies are made by the same Chinese company. And if they are made at the same factory, do you know if they are made with the same raw materials? We all know that just because they are manufactured (sourced) through the same factory, they can still have different parts. Are you saying they are all the same parts, just different colors/nameplates? And if so, which ones?
