Hard Race brand any good?

Anyone know if the hard race brand is any good?

They are available locally to me in Australia. I would get SPL but they have to be imported from the US. I don't think anything will be come down from there anytime soon and also the conversion from AUD to USD has also taken a huge hit.

So until the currecny gets better, I was planning on getting Hard Race suspension parts. But I cannot find any review on them.

Anyone have thoughts on them here?

You may be able to find reviews of their parts on the UK forums. They're not widely used in the States from my experience.

Get SPL. They are a known quantity.

Yeah I was hoping there was a easier alternative for me because I am in Australia. Like I said, atm the dollar is shiitt house and nothing would ship here from there anyway.

So I am probably going to have to wait until the currency value goes back up and then I can get SPL.

I just stumbled upon the Nismo front upper arms.

https://conceptzperformance.com/nism...z4_p_37713.php

Are they anywhere near as good as SPL?

My friend works at Nissan parts specialist, and can get lots of Nismo parts directly from Japan for cheap. If those ones are good I could get him to get them.

EDIT: OK upon more investigation, it seems the Nismo version are the exact same as the SPL brand? That is amazing if it is, my friend should be able to get them from Nissan at much cheaper price than me shipping it from the states.

The nismo ones are made by SPL, just with different colors and higher price tag

I mean just look:

Nismo

SPL
https://www.splparts.com/products/fr...-370z-g37.html

There is an outright statement somewhere i just can't find it

But if you have a nismo hookup that can you the Nismo version shipped to you cheaper, thats pretty awesome, they DO look like hotness. Silver-red >>> black-blue

If i had money to set on fire i'd swap out my SPL stuff for new Nismo versions

Mad!!

This would save me heaps! Because SPL will cost shitloads for me to import from US, privately. If my mate gets Nismo version from his business, it will surely be much cheaper. Going to ask him today.

Good for SPL landing a contract or whatever working agreement or license

Basically sold their design to a big company

I wonder if SPL is still manufacturing them FOR nismo, or if Nismo is building them in Japan (would make no sense to me)

it would be hilarious if Nismo had to ship them from SPL in Texas to Japan to Australia for less than SPL would charge to just . . . ship them to Australia from Texas

Also, is this Nismo USA? Is there even a Nismo USA? I am also amused that Nismo Japan is contracting with a texas company to sell these in 2020 for a car that came out over 10 years ago.

How has Nismo not built their own arms for this car?

What do Nismo race cars, like the RC version they sold years ago use for camber/caster adjustment? Those cars are stripped, caged, with monobloc brembos. I can't find a picture of their suspension setup

EDIT:
found this pic

https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/yl...6-10-20111.jpg

. . . is that a nonadjustable arm on a goddamn race car? or only adjustable at the top balljoint?

My understanding is that SPL makes the parts. All parts get shipped from SPL. Here in the states. No matter who you order from. The parts are shipped from SPL.

shadow85 04-02-2020 05:22 PM

So when did SPL start making parts for Nismo?

Is this a new thing? What year models did the Nismo 370Z start coming out with these SPL goodies?

JARblue 04-02-2020 05:38 PM

They aren't equipped from the factory.

OptionZero 04-02-2020 05:47 PM

I think this started in 2018, and was revealed at Z-Days or one of the big national Z conventions where Nismo USA actually shows up

and as said above, these are NOT FACTORY EQUIPPED PARTS. They're aftermarket parts produced by SPL, licensed by Nismo, sold through whatever distributor that eventually gets them from SPL

It appears that because these are now "Nismo" branded there is a Nissan part #

From the Z1 listing, it LOOKS like a nissan part # to me, but i could be wrong:
https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...s-p-13401.html

In theory any Nissan dealer with access to nismo parts can order them, but i dunno what sort of limitations that a region's Nissan/Nismo puts on distribution

Also, SPL isn't the only place to get SPL (even if parts ultimately come from their warehouse).
There's other vendors that MAY be offering a better price to ship to you if they have a sale or whatever hookup on your end

and have you looked HERE:
https://www.splparts.com/dealers/

It's a list of dealers that includes 5 australian companies (i didn't check each link, thats on you)
