Default Banjo Bolts on Sport Calipers

Hey all,

So I ordered the slotted rotors, Hawk hps pads kit that comes with the brake fluid and SS lines. The bolt going into the sport caliper is not a banjo bolt, but the ones I received from Z1 are banjo bolts. I know the base brakes are banjo bolts from the factory but I feel that the ones I’m using for the sport ones should be the same as OEM. I’ve heard that it should be the same from other who aren’t a pet of the VQ platform.

Has anyone got this kit on the akebonos and used the banjo bolts? I also am not a fan of the fact that Z1 says the bolts are too long and need to be cut down to make them work.

Did you get the Premium SS lines? Those dont use banjo bolts.

... but I thought you can't use the premium lines if you don't have a sport model to begin with (that they even don't work for the people who do the Akebono conversion). I was literally about to make this exact post yesterday, so I'm curious about the answers as well.

Unless Ive misread the original post, I believe he has sport calipers, ordered SS lines, but it came with Banjo bolts that he doesnt need.

If youre doing a conversion to Sport brakes and use the Premium lines, you wont need the banjo bolt, but will need the brackets that go on the calipers to hold the SS line blocks onto the calipers... for front calipers. I had to order them through ConceptZ... oh and the "hard line" that goes from the block to the the caliper in place of the banjo bolt for both front and back

I have the sport 370z, so it came with the akebonos. I did not get the premium lines, the kit when I ordered it said this was for the sport 370z. It said nothing about the premium lines.

Im a little confused. So the kit came with banjo bolts, but you currently dont use banjo bolts. Is that correct? If no banjo, then you have the hard lines to the calipers, which you wont need if youre using the banjo bolts.

If the lines that come with the kit have the long banjo bolt, you can order the shorter ones.

Banjo Bolt sizes:
Akebono 17mm m10 1.0 banjo bolt
Base model 20.3mm m10 1.0 banjo bolt

Looks like your either messed up ordering or z1 sent you the wrong ss line.
Whats the link to what you ordered?
