So the OEM bolt or spc bolt if I don't want to spend the money and the spc camber arms and midlink If I don't mind on doing it right. I'm going to look into both. I know for sure I don't want the increased tire wear or the crazy camber like those stance teenagers.
So essentially I can get away with what I already have or the spc bolts is what your saying? Are you positive the alignment won't get thrown off with aggressive driving with just the OEM bolt or the spc toe bolts? |
It's SPL
Not SPC SPC is an entirely different company Camber doesn't cause increased wear, just uneven wear. And camber is actually GOOD for handling, within limits Have u ever been to any race track anywhere? Every car there has negative camber There are some styles of car tuning that take it to an extreme |
Toe is the real killer for tires.
The car already has nearly -1.5 rear camber in stock form, with minimum drop it may add around 0.5 more negative camber, but the toe will increase as well. The target will be to get stock toe value (around 0.10) which may be achievable with stock toe bolts. For track, more negative camber will make you use all the tire in turns, so you can get better heat distribution and even wear at track. So it is either spending the money on SPL goodies or cheap out with the issue of slipping. I personally, tracked my car with SPL camber arm and SPC toe bolt, it was holding the alignment (but I was maxing the setting out). |
KW V3's aren't even a track coilover. They're too soft from the factory, need to be rebuilt frequently and aren't all they're cracked up to be for the 370z.
I know you said you don't want BC but i've got friends tracking those on 350zs and 370zs with Swift springs and they're pretty happy with them. Powertrix seem to be a pretty good budget coilover for street and some track use. I have a set of these on my Z31 300ZX. Also there's a new company with an offering for the 370z called Annex Suspension. They actually rode with me in my 370z equipped with Mines Ohlins ESTA coilovers to get a feel for them so that they could engineer some of that into their design. I know both the owners behind these two companies and the design/engineering philosophy behind their products. I highly recommend either of them as a budget coil over. Stay away from Megan, Godspeed, Tein, KW and HKS, the feedback i've gotten from people about those are usually around quality, adjustability and a poor ride. |

It's not hearsay (heresay according to you) when you have a FIA Bronze driver, 2012 Sony Playstation GT Academy Winner and Nissan driver giving you this feedback. Along with the feedback from an established grassroots motorsports program that revolves around Nissans, data acquired across the Z32, Z33, Z34 and R35 platforms. What else ya got? You like Tein Monoflexes...odd flex but ok. |
There really are only like 4 places that make coilover components. They're contracted by a billion different brands to make coilovers, and how "good" each brand's stuff is may vary based on the contracts in place

Locally, Tein has a great reputation, everybody are getting them, I wouldn't say they are bad, they are good for what they are, I tried a brz with flex Z and it was much better than stock, but I could attribute it to the soft stock suspension (which is good with stock tires, but when you jump to high grip tires, you start feel they are not up to the task). The Z on the other hand, has a very well engineered suspension and good with grippy tires if you have front negative camber.
But as I said in my first response, Valving is more important than spring rates, and for that, you need a reputable custom coilovers shop. Personally, I went with MCA suspension, an Australian company, they have a big reputation there, I am very amazed with the quality and how they ride in street, although I feel the rear is softer than what I would like in track (but their customer service is good and we are talking to see what we can change in the setup), but cannot complain in street, I was going to remove my AC to make it full fledged track car, but now I think it is very streetable and wouldn't go that route. |
