KW V3 and SPL installed!! Question. Need advice. Thanks!
So I got the KW V3 and SPL camber arm Front&Rear installed yesterday.
About 1 inch drop all around. however, I was told by the alignment guy , that the rear toe was off by a tiny bit, that I need some sort of bolt or toe arm to so that i can bring it back to factory spec. but he said it's ok even if i don't do anything.... Should I be concerned or just leave it like this? Thanks guys. Installed some side and rear lips. here's some pictures https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5759/...fca1c59a_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/634/2...c2d41df2_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/566/2...629cef77_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5787/...39b7ae0c_b.jpg |
cool. wow, datz low..probably lower than 1inch drop.. did you have that corner balanced or just dropped it just for looks?
as for the alignment, post up the AFTER readings. without dat we cant comment. |
I don't know if it's more than 1 inch . but the shop who did the installation said it's right about 1 inch drop... I used my finger to measure.. there's one finger gap ^^
i will just have to find a shop that can do corner balance...I will do it! I was kind of in a rush and forgot to ask the piece of paper for alignment . but I remember that the alignment guy said that the toe should be 0.3 , and now it's at 0.35 or something like that.. just off by a tiny bit.. you need some spc toe bolts https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart...on.php?II=4294
|
SPC toe bolts will be the cheapest, easiest option. I would do it, as even a little off in terms of an alignment can cost you big as far as tires go in the long run.
|
What's ur alignment specs?
camber really... |

Don't know how to measure the drop.the shop told me it's about 1 inch But I could feel that it's definitely more than 1inch Is it too low ?:tup::tup: Been driving around town the past couple days without any issue. The only time I scrape the front end is that I enter into the underground parking Other than that, no scrape. |

I know the upper limits of toe are .30 but I woud spend the $30 or so for bolts. Toe wear isnt worth it, in the long run tires are more than toe bolts

Thanks for the info.. i picked up the SPL rear traction link to solve the problem |
SPL rear camber arms + toe bolts will solve your problem.
Do it right the first time and don't get SPC. |

I already installed the SPL rear arm Just bought a SPL rear traction link to go along with the arm. :-) |
If I remember correctly the SPL traction arm has no effect on adjusting toe. You would need the SPL midlink arms to fix the toe for a regular alignment.
The traction arms are used for adjusting bump steer I think. |
You will need these for toe adjustment. You can't use the regular, much cheaper toe arms because of they are only compatible with true style coilovers. Yours are OEM style coilovers, hence the spring bucket on the arm for the OEM placement of the spring.

I emailed my question to Z1 Motorsport. And they recommend me to get the rear traction link. They said it will solve my alignment problem. I trust their advice so I ordered the SPL rear traction link. :-( |
That varis front lip tho... Love the build. Looks great! How long it take for the front lip to show up? And I can't wait for my KWs to come

now the STI will be my winter beater:icon17: |

Well hell that was a nice upgrade. STI are awesome. Love them in the winter. I have 2006 maxima SE 6spd as my daily Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

STI as daily driver is kinda painful.. especially the 2015 model, ride was so harsh but it definitely has a lot of grip in snow when u got the snow tires on.. so i guess i will just have to bear with the harsh ride:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl: my z is already in storage.. won't be able to drive the Z until April 2016... i will miss her. We have a long winter here. so i am going to be with my STI for the next 5 months or so. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/594/2...971e867d_b.jpg |
Yeah mine hasn't gone away for the winter just yet I normally wait for the first call of snow and then it's gone for winter... I probably got another 2-4 weeks before that happens then I'll be in daily full time. I mean I already never drive it my Zedd now because no point when I work at a hospital parking is terrible and I work long hours so I'm in the daily a lot as it is. I've put 2200 on since I got back in June

Yeah that's what it is. But sometimes I don't even drive it on the weekends if it's raining. Car has seen rain one weekend in its whole life which was for H20i in OC MD that was it. I'm super picky about driving that car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
