StopTech Big Brake Kit

Hey everyone!

We just wrapped this StopTech BBK install up over the weekend. How does 6 piston calipers on 15 inch rotors in the front sound? What about 4 pistons on a 14 inch rotor in the back? This car will have no problem stopping ;) StopTech has always made a great product paying special attention to details. These bad boys went on without any problems and finished perfectly. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a beautiful kit, performs great, and we are currently running an overstock special on them here!

Check the install pics out and let us know what you think!

They ARE nice, aren't they?

We're an authorized StopTech dealer, so you can purchase them directly from us :)

The installation is about 5 hours including thorough bleeding and cutting the rear dust shields.

Hey Decker, I didnt realize you moved over to Forged! Hope all goes well! If I didnt already have a Wicked kit coming my way that would have been pictures of my car ;)

Waiting for a PM for full kit.

I see in the picture that the front backing plate is being cut up, why is this necessary if the rotors are 355mm (14") the same size as stock? Different rotor offset?

Anyone tried the calipers with 18" wheels? I'll be using the 18" wheels with race tires in the spring, if Forgestar delivers by then that is.

vipor 10-27-2009 09:56 AM

Which (if any) lines does this kit include?

pm price. won't be any time soon unfortunately, but definitely could use some price-driven enticing ;)

Decker@Forged 10-27-2009 10:21 AM

PM's coming shortly!

The rear dust shield needs to be cut so the caliper/caliper bracket can clear ;)

This is StopTech's recommendation as far as wheel fitment is concerned:

Quote:

Kits usually require these minimum wheel diameters:

328mm rotor (12.9 inches) - 17 inch wheel
332mm rotor (13 inches) - 17 inch wheel
355mm rotor (14 inches) - 18 inch wheel
380mm rotor (15 inches) - 19 inch wheel

StopTech provides all required stainless steel lines with their kits.

In the picture, Kerry is actually trimming the rear dust shields. They will interfere with the rear rotor if they remained.

According to the post above 18" and larger should theoretically fit.

These are StopTech's general guidelines.

Kits usually require these minimum wheel diameters:

328mm rotor (12.9 inches) - 17 inch wheel
332mm rotor (13 inches) - 17 inch wheel
355mm rotor (14 inches) - 18 inch wheel
380mm rotor (15 inches) - 19 inch wheel

StopTech has a guide to test fitment posted on their site. Click here to check it out.

AK, it looks like Niko's (myfirstz) car. I know Niko got his wheels at Forged and lived semi near by so it's possible it's his car. Maybe he'll stop in here.

protoZ 10-28-2009 09:12 PM

decker you wouldn't happen to be from top speed would you?

Hey AK,

Its my car. I'm gonna take more pics and post later. Yea, the guys @ Forged did an awesome job. A special thanks to Kerry who worked overtime to ensure the job was done properly and thoroughly! Thanks to Sharif too who stayed late to tune my car (UpRev Reflash) for Import Face Off this weekend in Montgomery AL. I plan to drag her and the BBK should help me stop, no problems! :icon17: I'll post the Dyno numbers up later. Right now, I'm working. Well, supposedly working

Very nice! Seems like the MSRP is quite a bit more than the 350Z kits. I have the 13.1" with four pot calipers on the front and 12.9" two pot calipers on my 350Z and the MSRP was quite a bit less. That being said the StopTechs you just installed are huge.

MSRP is higher mostly because it's a larger front rotor, and a 6 piston caliper. If they offered a smaller setup for the 370Z, it would be on par with the kit you bought for your 350Z.

Very nice kit. PM price please!
