I agree, I'd like to see the chrome/no backplate on the car

When they ship them at the end of the month, I'm sure plenty of people will post pics

Putting these on with no back plate will require some body work to fill the hole behind the emblem. It would probably be more practical to have a back plate paint matched to your car.

uh what hole behind the back plate? why would they sell something that would require this?? I just ordered mine too...

Behind the stock emblem on the OEM bumper there is an indent that would be visible with the new emblems. You must use a backing plate to hide this, otherwise it will require filling/painting your bumper.

I've had the new chrome emblems for several weeks now, but haven't received my backing plates so for now the factory burgers are still on the car. I'm starting to consider making my own backing plates and having them paint matched. I might call my dealership this afternoon to see what they can do for me.

That is true, unless you are putting it on an aftermarket bumper like Amuse or Stillen. Those do not need a back plate. It's only needed on the stock bumpers.

Well since that is the case I will need to cancel my order. Please refund my order to: interpc1972@yahoo.com since I had No idea this would not cover up any holes in my bumper...

If you have one of the carbon fiber (or otherwise) backplates it does cover the holes just fine...? Are you that dead set on the emblems without backing?

dmhenderson 09-21-2012 08:45 PM

Also a little concerned that I haven't heard back from the OP. Worried that his original post said "first 100 pairs" but that he really meant "10 pairs". I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

This is whats behind the emblem:

This is what it would look like without the backing:

This is what it would sort off look like with CF background. This is a 350 emblem.

Do you have a pic of a Black emblem with no back plate?

Nevermind, I found it ^
