Sorry just saw this. It is possible. It's been a while, but I believe you have to modify the led panel a bit.

I had a question
I see you said that sometimes the LEDs can drain the battery
What is the solution you suggested for that

They should never drain your battery from normal use. If your leds stay dimly lit when the car is off, keep a tender on it if parked longer than 2 weeks. The Ctek 7002 is my favorite.
