Ordered the Seibon OEM Hood

Just ordered the stock version of Seibon's hood. Looking forward to seeing it on the car.

I've had so many chips and dimples put in my Aluminum hood in the last year (I90 is brutal with so many semi trucks and rocks) that the estimate to get it fixed and repainted was much more than the Seibon replacement. I'll post pics once the hood is in place.

Ordering my carbon fiber TS hood next week. I think what SEMA did to the Z is awesome!! I've got my mechanic checking out all the differences between the 370z front bumper and GTR bumpers.... He claims he can get it to fit.....with alot of added work! Looking at $1500 for the bumper alone! OUCH

Oh man, tell me about it. I do maybe 80%+ highway driving, and these cement/dump trucks and such have put so many chips in my bumper, but my hood has survived... for now.

Sounds good, give us a ring or shoot me a PM when you're ready or if I can help answer any questions.

Also, modding any bumper to fit any car would cost a lot.. but $1500? - I'd wait. Chances are you'll see 3 or more companies with a bumper by early Spring, even sooner.

More items available:

CF Mirror Covers
CF B Pillar Bar
CF Engine Cover

GT-R Style CF Front Bumper!!! ETA - February. Pricing is unknown, but if I get interest, I can do a pre-order. This is the ONLY way you'll get your hands on this bumper before summer. The earlier, the better.. Seibon will only have a few available and these big companies and deep pocket people will be picking them up ASAP. I can have them for you, made just for you, if ordered soon.

Expect a high price tag though, it is Seibon, and it is Carbon Fiber (not sure if the whole bumper or the center part as shown in many pics). But our price will still be the best, rest assured ;)

Let's get a list going, or a new thread perhaps?

has seibon tried to do the a pillars?

AJ@ECSMotorsports 12-26-2009 09:23 AM

What do you mean? The interior A Pillar itself? I doubt it..

They have a "Pillar Bar" which I am not sure what it is.. maybe a CF Strut Bar? I will get more details on that

Well the install went fairly good but with a little more hands on than desired.

There are some subtle hole size differences that need modifying. The pictures are meant to show some of the adjustments necessary. The best approach is to measure the hole sizes on the OEM hood and then modify the SEIBON hood to accommodate the parts. The OEM sizes were made possible in the SEIBON by using a 5/16" drill and a square file. The modifications are really quite easy. Another issue is the front seal has an outer corner fastener that has no hole in the SEIBON hood to accommodate it. This issue was addressed by using some 3M glue (kind of like neoprene glue) to attach the loose ends to the bottom of the hood.

Overall though, the hood kicks and I really like the look. Recommended a purchase item with the understanding that a little hands on is necessary.

Very nice there, looks better that I thought it would on a black Z. Most cars you can't pull it off on a black car.

Keep her clean!

PS: Happy Birthday to me!

The exterior part of the A Pillar area.

AJ@ECSMotorsports 01-04-2010 12:05 AM

Ah, thanks! Seibon doesn't make this for any other car, so I was curious as well.

All 370Z items are ready to ship, we just are waiting on more CF Mirror covers!

Indeed!

G Fo12ce 01-08-2010 02:25 AM

Are there any plans for the TS hood in dry carbon? Do they make and under panels to block the vents on the TS hood for when it rains?

Thanks! I'm liking the look more and more. What is pretty cool is that the hood looks black from certain angles/light direction and then the CF comes out in a subtle way from others........now for the XPEL protection install.

Overall, would you recommend the product? I'm still on the fence about Seibon. It seems they have minor issues, but nothing that can't be fixed. I came from the Mustang world where fiberglass hoods almost never fit perfectly and required a little work so its not too unusual for me.

Nikon FM 01-10-2010 05:49 PM

Yes I would recommend the hood(s). The adjustments needed were increasing hole sizes and using some 3M (rubber glue). The holes are in the right place just a little too small on the SEIBON hood. The rubber seal (front of hood) has a plug on the outer corners but the S hood does not have a matching hole for the plugs ...thus the glue. The minor adjustments were really easy.

NewYorkJon34 01-10-2010 08:36 PM

Do you guys have a replica Nismo s-tune front bumper, it does not have to be carbon fiber but it does need to be painted pearl white, anybody make those? If it was not like $700 I'd buy it from Nissan, but it is alil too much :(

AJ@ECSMotorsports 01-19-2010 11:33 PM

Not at this time bud, sorry.
