Dyno day - Baseline power runs

Hey all,

I am booked in on the 31st at Racepace to do a baseline dyno run. Let me know if you're interested within a week as I need to confirm numbers.

I know the guys there pretty well so we can get a good deal.

Who - All 370z
What - DynoDynamics baseline power pull with two printouts (Different gears, AF ratios, etc)
Where - Racepace in Bayswater
When - 31st October

Updated - Price - $60ea for four cars (Me, Ev, Bez, Speedy R34)

Chris said it's almost not worth his time for this price...Can anyone get a cheaper deal or get more cars involved?

Cheers,
Darren

Yeah I'm always keen lol Only thing though I hope my car is ready by then and on the road with a front bar lol otherwise I'm out... should be ok by then though....

Also I might do a dyno run, because when i did mine the engine was still tight and losing power, so it would be interesting to see if it gets any more out of it.... I'll think about it though..

There's gotta be more people coming.. At least for the cruise.
Maybe start another thread for an official Melb cruise that day?

ALL - Please confirm if you are getting on the dyno.

See first post for updates.

evse82 10-19-2009 02:08 AM

Hey I think it might actually be best if you don't count me for the dyno, I may not have my car on the road by then dude, it's getting close and the parts haven't arrived yet, and i think they wanna do the matching next week which means the car will be out for the weekend :(

It's not for another week plus man!

I'm just for the cruise.

Yeah but my parts are arriving next week from Japan, then they have to take my bar off to assess, and then match the paint and spray the new ones.. so ill be without a front bar for about 4 days meaning it could go through that weekend...

Either way I'm coming, but i just might not have my car lol

yuyu370z 10-19-2009 06:54 AM

ok this may be a dumb question but what can we achieve with a dyno besides knowing how the car perform? :)

Nothing else :) at this stage baselines just show the variances between the stock cars and what gains can be achieved in the future... It's always interesting to see who has the most powerful car from stock...

well mine at 2000km was 198.2rwkw (stock) then it went to 212.4rwkw so now I think it would be a little more now that the engine has freed up a little...

the stock figures for a run in engine should be a little higher say at 5000km or so...

Exactly what Ev said. It's just a before and after mods so you know how much you have gained, otherwise you'll never know.

Hey Ben are you in?

evse82 10-19-2009 07:30 PM

on a side note stillen is having a sale - the exhaust is now $1099 USD which is pretty good

With our AUD at 92cents that pretty good.

yuyu370z 10-19-2009 07:44 PM

tks guys. Doesnt mod the car ie exhaust etc.. will void the nissan warranty?

If something fails it has to be a direct result from what you have modified and this needs to be proven, having an exhaust is almost impossible to cause any issues which would void the warranty on anything major. Air intakes on the other hand can be said to change the quality of the air being sucked into the engine causing engine failure... this is higly unlikely though, plus most aftermarket filters provide better filtration than stock....

But i mean in the end of the day, they could blame anything on anhything lol.. just keep the stock parts ;)

evse82 10-23-2009 04:52 PM

Let's get some numbers down cause only a week to go...

Thanks for confirming.

This is now locked in with the dyno operator. He has requested cash only on the day so please bring your $60.

It's hard to estimate timeframes, but I would suggest turning up at 1:30 - 2pm. I have slotted Bezzita in last, so there is no rush for you with your shop commitments, etc

Factory 9 no.6
Hollway Drive, Bayswater

I vote for either brunch meet at The Pie in the Sky Olinda pre-Dyno or late lunch there post-dyno. Anyone else?

choonga 10-28-2009 11:18 AM

i MIGHT be able to make it earlier on for brunch if you were to do that!
