Ming paint protection or X pack or just zaino (please help)

hey all:hello:

have just recently bought a new brilliiant silver 370z and i'm having trouble deciding on which of these products will be the best to protect it. i've had Ming applied to my past 2 cars, being a 2007 mazda 6 and just sold 2009 gt rx8 and found it to be ok, but would like your thoughts on what you have decided to do to keep your beast in tip top condition???

ps. the Ming protection would'nt be getting done through the dealer but by motor one themselves so i'm not getting f"c%ed over with the dealers price.

thanks for your ideas guys eg.

- Ming
- X pack
- Zaino

i've used these paint protection products on my 1992 Mitsubishi Galant GSR, 1995 Barina GSI ,1998 WRX, 2002 WRX and to be perfectly honest, they have been a waste of money and my cynical view is a cheap money grab.

My car still had swirl marks and the paint went rough after a while.

Needless to say when I bought my 2007 FPV GT and 2009 370Z, I didnt waste my money.

Rather I spent $250 on Bowdens car cleaning products and waxed the car myself.

Just my view....

THIS IS THE SCAM - DON'T DO IT MATE.

Ming is some junk in a small bottle which they smear on your perfect paint finish, and then they charge you 200 bucks or more.
You'd have to be an idiot to get this done on a new car by the way.

I brought myself a Zaino kit. I haven't used it on my Z yet but I did a trial run on my other car. It came up pretty good. I got this kit.

thanks all for your opinions guys so none of you have paint protection on your z just good quality polish... the only reason that i was contemplating the Ming paint protection is that i can get it done for $199 and not through the dealership, so i thought it was cheap, but i think you guys are swaying me to the zaino, thanks again 370er for the link and nissan z46, mr ed for your help

Had Motorone do a Fifth Dimension protection for me, for two reasons:
1. had good result on previous car (04 RX8), got a better second hand price coz the car looked immaculate
2. Part of the package included small dent and scratch repairs for two year; don't have to pay insurance excess fees

you can also tailor the package to included wheel protection and interior detailing as well, depending on how much u wanna spend. For me, I was already spending the money, might as well buy myself peace of mind

I've been in the auto detailing business for a long time and can honestly say you are wasting your money on expensive paint sealants put on by dealerships and or detailers. Do it your self, unless you need paint correction work, then contact a reputable detailer. Zaino is a quality product that woks very well but is a little expensive compared to other top products. Do your research before you buy anything. There are some great auto detailing site's on line that will educate you on this topic.

still alittle confused, i did have alook at at mates bmw that uses zaino and it does look great, however he does spend hours and hours doing it.... and on the other hand my uncle's audi "08" has paint protection and he only wash's it every couple of weeks (with no wax/polish) and still looks brand new and he has put some serious km's on the car, so yeah lol mmmmm not sure

Applying Zaino does take quite a while to do if you are doing a few coats but I plan to only do a full detail once every 6 months... so it doesn't take a long time when you look at it that way. When I was buying the Z I also looked at the paint protection the dealer offered. I thought for less than what it would cost for that I could get a full detailing kit (Zaino) and it will last atleast 2 years before i'd have to buy more stuff... although the zaino car wash is a small bottle so that might not last! I've heard Maguires is meant to be pretty good too.
