The dealer mentioned that all the presold cars have been accounted for so mine would be built in the coming weeks and will be one of the last to come to Australia this year. He mentioned the next one after this would be in January 2010. I'm guessing other colours might be fine but not the 'Carbon Silver' that I've ordered.

Oh well, gives me time to sell my STI

Man that is really rough having to wait that long. As the saying goes "Good things come to those who wait", mind you that probably doesn't help much at the moment.

Are you sure your dealer cant get one from another dealer. I only ask as there is some out there available still. The other reason i ask, is when i was looking at BMW's they where happy to get one from another dealer if it got the SALE.

Edit - You wont regret getting rid of the STI for the Z. I cant believe how good the Z feels compared to my now old STI.

I saw a Silver at Moorooka in Brisbane on the lot last week? Wasnt sold! It was a manual. They had a black Auto as well.

Yeah - they did say if they can get another one obviously the wait will be reduced. Fingers crossed.

I still won't forget after the test drive in the Z how I got back into the STI and it felt strange. Don't get me wrong the STI is great but the Z felt soooo much better.

still waiting for an exact date - have been promised weekly calls from the dealer... best guess was sept - not even start or end or whatever....

I ordered nearly 2 weeks ago and my dealer was meant to get back to me about whether he could get a yellow manual from another dealer or not. My estimated delivery date was september. I *hope* he has put the order in! I don't like having to chase up the dealer like this. They should call me, not the other way around!

Not good that the dealers have left you waiting. To be honest I've chased my dealer a bit but they have been good so far. Disappointed they've extended the date by a month but it's not too bad.

Definitely feel your pain though - I'm dying to get behind the wheel. Almost tempted to go to another dealer just to test drive again to get my fix of Z.

Just out of curiosity, which Nissan dealer did you go to?
Got mine from Main North, Carbon Silver 6MT back 2nd week of June
Paid deposit b4 I test drove it, Just had the colour to choose when it was released in May
Had to wait about a month, only after quite a bit of pressure on the poor salesperson

Congrats on the purchase - that was a good turn around from driving to delivery. I'm getting mine through Lakeside Nissan. They've been really good so far. Just spewin I have to wait until end of September for it to arrive.

Wow - same colour as me - cool. Look forward to catching up for a cruise and maybe a photo shoot when mine arrives. I've only seen one 370 on the road in Adelaide and it was actually a Carbon Silver on Portrush Road - but not sure if that was you.

I'm up Golden Grove way - how about you?

Guess you may have seen me; I do live off Portrush Rd. Good choice of colour mate.

I have to say, I suggested to Main North Nissan to bring in a yellow or blue as their demo model, and if I liked it I'll take it off them. But since I saw the carbon silver, never second guessed since.

I guess that if customer service is good for you, then there's no reason to "inflame" the situation. I chased my salesperson almost weekly (poor Jason), not because he was lazy or slow, but just because I wanted to avoid getting placed on the waiting list for next shipment.

Jason (salesperson) told me later he snapped up my C. silver 370z from Unley Nissan before they got it as their demo unit (sweet revenge). Oh btw, should clear up why I dislike Unley Nissan so much... walked in around third week of April to see if Unley Nissan had any details of the 370z, totally got treated like I was not going to afford it (was in T-shirt, shorts and thongs). Then when I asked to be placed on a callback list when pre-ordering commenced, the salesperson told me to "come back later".

Hang in there mate, it's worth the wait. When it gets here, we'll organise a cruise or something.

Wow - not good that you got the run around. Poor customer service really pisses me off.

I cannot believe how slowly time is going - I am counting down the sleeps until mine arrives. I think i've seen just about every youtube clip of anything to do with the Z.

I know what you're going through buddy, went through the same ****.
Still, find myself watching youtube videos of the car almost everyday.

I just rang the dealer and have confirmed a 'Stock number' for my Z (whooo hoooo) - therefore it has been built but I'm still looking at end of September for delivery.

He mentioned that Nissan had totally underestimated the sales they'd have in Australia. Hence the wait. He has two other customers that will be waiting until November for theirs. Poor buggers.
