I don't even want the mirroring function. I want a HU that runs android with decent hardware. I want the Google Play store on the HU. Essentially a tablet with all the stereo abilities. |

know that i think about it all i want out of a hu is android connectivity and that'll also make my whole sound system sound badass!

I am wondering about mirroring google maps for nav and for going having to pay
the difference for one with nav. From what I can tell most current app sync is limited to what the HU supports as opposed to just a true mirror of the phone? I assume that's what you guys are talking about with the upcoming new ones, full mirror? Thanks |
I don't want the mirroring. I would like a full android operating system on the head unit. The mirroring is cool, but I don't want to have to use my phone to get what I want out of the head unit, especially for how much they are charging for these things.

Have you looked at the appradio 4?

:iagree: This is pretty much it. I'd like to keep my cubby hole too. If I can't find any other options in a reasonable time or hear of anything coming out in the future then I'll probably go with the Tablet solution. I would rather buy an exhaust, HFC's or a G3 CAI before I spend money on custom fabrication. That's why I was looking for a head unit with tablet functions, because I'll install that myself. |
so does anyone know of any good 2015 HU that are out already from ces 2015

OTOH, it sure p***** me off when I'm on the passenger side and I'm locked out of using 'search' on a GPS or music system while the car's moving. I mean, WTF's the point in having to pull over everytime you want to find the way to some place you want to go on-the-fly? There needs to be a work-around for that but locks the driver out. I understand you'd just have that many more dummies taking their eyes off the road if it wasn't absolutely foolproof. It's getting pretty scary out there frankly. I really don't think the police enforce it enough. Here anyway. I can't speak for elsewhere, but judging by how many idiots I encounter everywhere I go I'm sure it's a target-rich environment anywhere there's a road. 104 |
