do you have access (axxess) installed? try unplugging it and doing a hard reset. might help to remove the fuse and put it back in on the HU, but your system is turning on, so i think it might be your steering control module that's screwing something up.

on my honda i have access installed on a 2500BT which is similar to your 5500BH but a watered down version, works fine.
i also run two 4500BT's with PAC. no issue (370Z and G35C).
