Default Polk 6501 w/ base H/U

So I'm to the point where I can no longer stand my sh!tty speakers in the Nismo. I would like to just upgrade the speakers first and maybe down the line add an amp. I want to know if swapping the stockers for the Polk MM6501 would be alright if I'm keeping the stock (base) H/U and no amp yet. I don't particularly play my music past level 20, so that's something to keep in mind.

Keep in mind the crappy stock audio comes from half the speakers and half the head unit. The stock head unit is putting out only about 8 watts per channel. So giving the MM's that much your basically going to be starving them for power. So they will not sound anywhere near their best until they either get a new head units 22 watts RMS of power or a external amp.

If you are going to run them off stock HU and not upgrade you are better off grabing a set of low power Coax speakers

i recommend you swap HU and using its EQ to clean it up.

im pretty happy with my current setup which is a pioneer doubledin and stock speakers. my car's pretty loud anyway with the exhaust, i just need some good tunes to listen to while waiting at a light. you can make the stock crappy speakers sound pretty decent... just can't play them loud. it's still plenty loud for me though.
