Default subs installed

So here is what I got installed, nothing fantastic but it's great for me.

The amp is mounted behind the driver seat, already checked it and it's not having heat problems, ran it for about 3 hours yesterday driving around. It sounds great so far. I didn't get a RE-Q installed yet, but I might just to see the sound difference. I am going to need one anyway once I get around to doing all my door speakers.

I bought all my parts online and had a local shop do the install.

Maybe in the future, but right now the cost is just a little to much. Since I have the nav/bluetooth changing out the headunit might cause more problems than it's worth. Until I get a few thousand dollars to play with anyway.

Just noticed I didnt make the images clickable, full size images are in my album

FYI if they used Sky Blue(Pin 9)/Violet (Pin 14) it may not sound as good as using if you are using a High to Low Level Converter.

I recommend pulling out the Sub Amp and using the Red/Green speaker wire to your converter or RE-Q for the Sub Channel.

I tried it using the SB and V wires first and the volume was about 1/2 and wouldn't go up at the same level as the rest of the speakers. I believe the Signals that are coming from the SB/V are Balanced Low Level Signals.

Once I hooked up the the RE-Q to the Speaker outs of the Bose Sub Amp it sounded great everything sounded much better and i had to lower my gain to about 25% vs. cranked to max.

If you are using the re-q on the bose system than this link should help you. If you are using it on the stock basic model than you just connect the speaker wires to the re-q. But at that point I would just change the head unit much easier.

Nice, that is exactly where I was thinking of mounting my amps. One on the driver side, and the other on the passenger side. What length screws did you use? I'm just wondering if I should be worried about hitting anything behind that wall.

i just used 3M tape. works good. plus, if you keep the wires tight...that also help to keep mine upright along with my wires comming from the top....not the side.

Ouch, okay. I'll just use double sided tape as well then. Or maybe some industrial strength Velcro.

With this setup can you also replace the bose speakers with say SLC 265.25NG Rainbow speakers and still have the use of your factory navigation?
