Metra 99-7607B dash kit for Nissan 370Z is NOW AVAILABLE!

:excited: Finally, all touring non nav members (and base members planning on installing 1 din HU) can install their aftermarket HU without breaking the BANK! Dealer was asking $220-250 for the base trim panel. Lowest pricing I have seen from one of our forum sponsor The Z Store! Is it possible to do 2 single DIN units?

Flip Up LCD Screen
CD/MP3/DVD Player

Or will the screen not be able to go _| because of the cubby door?

AK370Z 07-24-2009 01:27 AM

I don't see why not. But I think your lcd may go like this _/ because of the protruding cubby. I'm going to look around and see if I can find the picture of similar setup. I believe some kid in Japan did this.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 01:31 AM

Thats what I was worried about... =( Cause I like the whole double din monitor thing. But just me, I think it's cool to have the thing come out and fold up like it's saying 'Hewo!' Plus, it's alot less obvious of screaming: Expensive Audio/Visual Equipment In Here!

One slot if for the cuby hole and one is for the single din head unit. Or you can snap the bracket off and install a double din. So

Who wants a system installed:tup::happydance:

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:05 AM

Ooh Ooh I do I do!

So I'm guessin havin a flip up monitor's gonna be a bad idea?

bigaudiofanat 07-24-2009 11:30 AM

LOL no you can run a flip out of that is what you prefer I checked clearance should not be a problem for them to come out.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:30 AM

Even with a 90* flip up? _|

bigaudiofanat 07-24-2009 11:35 AM

Which one is that?

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:36 AM

lol I dunno its just the angle I'd go with. Something in the 75-90* range _\ or _|

bigaudiofanat 07-24-2009 11:45 AM

I am not sure at a 90 angle all the flip outs have adjustable angle controls.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:54 AM

Guess I won't know till I buy one and throw it in there and see...

SvR370z 08-26-2009 07:56 AM

ZoomtoZ 08-27-2009 10:36 PM

bigaudiofanat 08-27-2009 10:50 PM

SGTseanzie 10-11-2009 03:18 PM

456ntripz 05-17-2010 11:07 AM

I have a Nismo and wasn't sure if i needed it when I was doing the radio so i ordered it anyways. Turns out I didn't need it. I have an account with Metra so if you need the wire harness and antenna adapter I can get that for you.

dudafunk 11-29-2010 05:51 AM

I'm interested in seeing what a pop out DVD looks like on a base model.... wanna see if the cubby affects the angle or not... hopefully not... pics anywhere?

grover0878 04-11-2011 06:36 AM

Anybody know if this will will the 2011 Touring? The website does not list this year and I already have a double din NAV unit to but in just no way to install it.

RedBullRR 04-11-2011 10:03 AM

Is this only needed if you are installing a single din unit? I have a Base Model, and am replacing the HU with a Double Din. Do I need this?

Does anyone know were to get the wire harness?

90 ST 04-11-2011 10:46 AM

You can get away with out it, but it does leave a bit of a gap around most HU, as for the harness, same place you get the kit from, as well you need an antenna addapter. any audio shop should be able to get you one. Metra is the one to get IMO.

grover0878 04-11-2011 05:06 PM

I will definitely need the dash kit as the radio is integrated into the dash with the Bose in the Touring, just need to know if this kit for the 09 will also work on the 11

As long as you don't have the NAV i don't see why not.

Hopefully you can see from this picture that the buttons for the radio are all integrated into the dash area.

Yep, thats the same POS i had, so no problem, just get the parts mentioned and ur good.

grover0878 04-12-2011 06:21 AM

I figured they would be the same, but I wonder why Metra doesn't say the 09 one will fit the 11'. I almost ordered the Schoche just because they were the only ones I found that specifically said it would fit, everything I read though says the Metra is the better kit.

90 ST 04-12-2011 11:42 AM

They may just not have updated the site...

A bit car-electronics naive here...

Do I need this dash-kit to install an aftermarket double-din head unit?

I have the '10 base model - my current factory unit looks like this:

http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...pit%20copy.jpg

I ask this because it seems like the factory unit is already a double-din. Can I just swap out the unit without the need of any other dash kit?

-------------

Edit: Question answered for me here (depends on the unit I guess, but in this case, I don't need this dash kit):

+1 I just bought a Kenwood Double Din, and was told by PC Richards I needed a Mount. However my research has told me otherwise. Can anyone confirm this before I start the install this weekend?

90 ST 04-14-2011 10:41 AM

you can get away with the OEM trim as i mentioned, but it leaves a gap around most DD units.

You DO NOT need the dash kit if you have base model because it's a Double DIN opening (i'm assuming you're installing Double DIN Headunit). There's very small gap around it. It never bothered me enough to spend $50 on it.

http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...Z/DSC02018.jpg

There was a black plastic end plate by my HU. So even if you try to put something through the gap, it won't go though. There's a plastic surround (with kenwood)

Xsad 04-12-2012 10:14 PM

Do you guys kown, with the double DIN can we still keep the 6 CD changer?

djrelic 07-21-2012 11:37 AM

Im about to pull the trigger and order this... but I rather order the factory dash kit which is like 200 bucks over this if it looks like sh*t

Read what this guy wrote on the reviews of it:
