Factory NAV tricks

Just curious if any one in the Nissan/Infinity community has done anything interesting with the factory navagation... ie play movies/games/car diagnostics type of stuff?

I saw something neat awhile back. the camp thing from HKS. Just wanted to see what all you could possibly do with the factory NAV.

I mainly goto the Canadian forum part of this place and I've seen a couple posts about how complicated it is to to get the AUX video to work white the car is in motion. This is the reason why I've actually replaced my NAV order to SPORT.

Our "BASE" model in Canada is acutally your "TOURING" @ $39998 CAD. We only get to choose SPORT and NAV.

Your base model starts with a "double din" faceplate. The touring as well as touring + nav each come with separate plates. Nissan charges a ridiculous amount for the plate but I hear a company called Metra carries one for cheap.

If you already have the NAV, you're going to be hard pressed to install a secondary unit just because of how intergated it is with the entire system.

Your best bet is to figure out how to get video playing while the car is in motion. This is acutally illegal to do yet it would open up endless possiblities.

A company called Thermaltake released an AUX LCD screen for a standard computer (the hook was that it only fit into Thermaltake cases) that was touch screen, I'm sure I could (given enough time) figure out a way to apply the software to the Nissan LCD while you have Vista/Windows7RC running off the composite inputs in the center armrest.

I've also read about ppl experimenting with the 9.3GB HDD. No actual progress at concepts but learning more about .bin files and what can be used to ultimately "hack" the HDD.

The performance software you've seen floating around in these forum is an actual device that works through the AUX input as well so you'd still need to disable the break for function.
