you have the ASWC? if so, pm bigaudiofanat cause he seems to know how to work it. the ASWC i have is my very first that i will be attempting to hookup on my dd.

my Z and G, and previous cars all used PAC with no issue.

yah, i hear the aswc can be pretty tricky if it doesnt recognize the car and headunit. i think it's suppose to be able to take manual programming too...
but then that completely defeats the purpose, and costs 1.5x more than pac.

yeah thats what they say...but. what's funny is that I dont really ever use the steering wheel controls since they are too low for me. I guess i want them just because i can lol

Haha that's my same thought!

I can verify that the ASWC control DOES work with the Pioneer AHV-X2500BT. I did have to manual program, but that literally took all of 2 minutes. No lag at all on HU response.

looks good, jenz. :) i saw a couple other people placing their mic there. originally i was going to place mine there too, but i decided to place it near the rear view mirror as i could tuck the clip into the ceiling liner more cleanly.

im using a 4yr old peripheral (pac) on my 4500BT and for FM radio, i do need to select the presents on the display to scroll. other then that, everything works. i dont really listen to the radio so this is no issue for me. :)

i will be installing a 2500BT in the next week or so using a ASWC in my dd. will post back how that works. its on my honda, but it has the same steering wheel controls as my base Z.

For the ASWC and the 2500BT, if you have to do the manual programming (page 19 of the AXXESS instructions show the button assignments), you can make the choice of "Seek Up/Next & Seek Down/Prev" or "Preset Up & Preset Down".

I choose the "Preset Up & Preset Down". So in Radio mode, it will switch between your preset stations. In USB mode with a Flash Drive, it will switch between Folders. When I do listen to the radio, I will switch back and forth between 3 different preset stations so this works best for me. Works well in USB mode also -- If I want to go to the next song, I push the "Track" button on the HU -- If I want to go to the next album, I push the steering wheel control.

Are you certain that you plugged the 3.5mm jack into the right location? (I mention this because I made this mistake originally :shakes head:)

Make certain you are plugged into the "Wired remote input" not the "AUX jack"

I tried navigating just using the HU (stock) and it felt awkward. Steering wheel controls ftw.

I looked at those and pretty sure it was plugged into the correct jack shown below.

Crap i think that I just saw that this IS the aux... but the other is the mic and then the "wired remote input"

Shown on page 48 here

Nevermind im an idiot :gtfo2: "Me"

sounds good, speedracer! on my honda that will use the 2500BT, i wont be using FM radio all that much either since rush hour usually all commercials :ugh: so i will just use the default setting of just seek (FM) or next track (USB). :)

one of the installers that did the same honda as mine mentioned he did not have to manual program.. so it might just be that the 370Z's are not part of the default nissan setting in the aswc. who knows.

kenchan 04-05-2013 01:38 PM

i completely agree with jenz about having buttons to work.
