Need Recommendations

I'm looking to swap my current radio/deck with a touch screen that is compatible with iPod/iPhone, MP3. Divx or any videos support isn't a must.

Can anyone recommend a decent unit? Also an installer? I'll prob purchase it on Amazon or a website

search. don't get defensive and say some nonsense like "if you're not going to help just shutup" because that, honestly, is the best help anyone can give you. Just search. Your answer has been answered dozens of times, without exageration.

Defensive? I thought public forum was about giving their own ideas and sharing ideas...Why would I get defensive?

Yes I did my "research" and just wanted input on which one would people recommend.

It's not like there is only one company that makes in-dash screens. Then there wouldn't be the question.

Looking for GPS feature too?

if you did your research you'd have all the information you need. Between bigaudiofanat and wicked CAS you'll have everything lined up. If you haaven't come across either of their posts then you clearly DIDN'T do your "research". And I meant search the forums not google different HU specs.

Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7" Motorized Touchscreen Display: Car Electronics

This is my winner when my tax return gets here. this is normally $500, here it's $380.
It also have the parking brake override bypass kit available for purchase so your passenger can watch DVD's while you drive. This is the newest line just released last month.

Make sure you read the "what about bose" thread in the sticky if you have the bose system. It is very enlightening.

Also, if you're wanting to keep the steering wheel controls read up on that, as it seems they become sluggish/don't work proper with the adapter.

Check out the Pioneer App radio 2. If you have an iphone you are all set to have one sweet head unit.

enkei2k 02-20-2013 11:51 AM

That's only a little over half dozen (7) :p

just messing with you

This isn't theoretically a very good choice if you have the bose system since the App Radio 2 is a preamp voltage of 2.

Sorry, I wasnt aware that you needed any RCA Preouts when installing an aftermarket head unit, I would have assumed that you just needed the speaker level outputs.
