Nice, I couldnt get it to work with a relay as the new unit requires like a 2 sec delay before you can apply the ground to kill it

I found the one that's compatible and bought it. $675 more towards this car! hopefully the gf doesn't get jealous as always. :D which iPod cable are you guys using?

LostSol 04-25-2013 06:18 AM

There's no harness if he has the Bose (not sure what his trim is).

kenchan 04-25-2013 11:50 AM

you sure? there should be a harness with RCA's for the bose? check with bigaudiofanat. :)

that's possible cause it appears there are differences in the delay time between the relays.

i know one of them did not work on my 4100DVD in my G, so i have a generic toggle sw wired up in the cubby.

Yes you need the harness; I had the bose setup and used the adapter

you also forgot the antenna adapter as well.

The Bose system does not use a traditional harness if you're changing out the head unit, as the speakers are dependent on external amplifiers. It does use an adapter to tap into the speakers if you plan on keeping them OEM.

I didn't mention the antenna adapter, as it's not considered part of the non-existent harness- it's an adapter, much like a PAC or AWSC.

Sorry if I wasn't being clear.

Infamous 04-25-2013 03:11 PM

I knew I was forgetting some stuff. Thanks guys. Antenna, wiring harness, iPod/3.5/USB Jack. I have a base model stereo.

kenchan 04-25-2013 03:13 PM

do you have like basic e-tape, taps, crimps, solder, etc?

kenchan 04-25-2013 04:02 PM

oh yah, i also did this when i installed my 4500 last month.

kind of bringing this one back but i have an issue and wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue of glare? I have 30% on all windows but when the sun hits this stereo its IMPOSSIBLE to see the screen even with a slight light. someone on here said to up the brightness and contrast but that doesnt do anything. Anyone else run into this issue? any fixes? im almost tempted to replace it for something different cause of this glaring issue.

kenchan 05-29-2013 01:15 PM

hasn't bothered me. but then, i dont stare at it or watch dvd's on it so dont know.

i know my other car the 2500BT is up higher on the dash so i do get glare at times.

huh, that's very odd. you might have a defective backlight maybe? can you tilt it by one increment and see if that helps?

Cbtech 05-29-2013 03:53 PM

I have it tilted x2 right now for better visibility. I might try to tilt it back to see if the glare goes away.

kenchan 05-29-2013 04:33 PM

yah, and try full brightness i guess since you're already thinking about selling it. who cares about longitivity now. :D

on my car i have my 4500BT at zero tilt, and i can see just fine.

Cbtech 05-29-2013 06:53 PM

well I really hate to sell this thing as it was a PTA to install and i dont want to have to take everything apart again...again...again...again

kenchan 05-29-2013 08:53 PM

it's not THAT big of a deal to install the HU, no? :D

What is this?
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2837/8...72d44594_b.jpg

Where did you guys run your wires through the firewall to power your amp? Edit: nvm I found where to run the wires.

cheshirecat 05-30-2013 01:13 PM

That looks like the AC control system busted open.

As far as the glare, I would suggest turning up the brightness and contrast quite a bit, as well as tilting the screen 3-4 "increments". Glare was unmanageable otherwise.

Cbtech 05-30-2013 04:05 PM

yeah i did all different angles :( nothing works for that glare

Infamous 05-30-2013 06:49 PM

My hu isn't turning on. I think I have everything wired correctly. I've installed hu's before, but none using aswc axxess. I'm befuddled. How many wires on the axxess get hooked up, 3? Ground, power and remote and plug in the 3.5mm?

Cbtech 05-31-2013 04:41 PM

I only use three wires and the 3.5mm when I hooked up the axis. But then again I can't get mine to switch sources or tracks.

kenchan 05-31-2013 06:47 PM

im using a pac so dont know. mine works perfectly though.

Make sure you have a good ground. The bolt in the middle of the cubby up near the triple gauge worked fine for me.

Antenna adapter blue wire

Hello new member here. I have been searching and haven't found a definite answer.

Is that blue wire from the antenna adapter ok to splice with the microbypass blue + blue/white wire from the radio harness ? if not where did you connect yours?

Thanks in advance.

Yup- the 350 and 370 have an antenna amplifier that needs power from that line. Splice away.

yah, i still haven't encountered my 4500BT being that washed out. might be something to do with the top film that was used on your production lot or something, but sounds  that you fixed your situation. :D
