Default stereo installation question.

So Im about to pull the trigger on the pioneer 4400bh.
and along with that, i was thinking about the review camera also.
Since im bad at the whole wiring and stuff... i was just wondering how much would shop charge me for this.
I would probably buy all the things from amazon or somewhere but not at a local shop. because i think they charge more for the product plus including tax.
nobody like tax right? lol

so bottom line is... what is reasonable and how much is isn't.

Thanks.

I had my nav installed for $40.

If I had a rear view camera, the price would probably double or triple due to labor hours running wires..

Craigslist is your best option..Find someone in your area thats mobile and will take care of it for cheap. Taking the stock unit out is a breeze. Its the wiring thats a little tricky.

Ive been installing the last 15 years and from me that would be $100 on the radio and $150 on the camera, $65 for steering wheel controls if you are adding those too.

Quality work is something you have to keep in mind Chefsung...

Just because I got it done for $40 doesn't mean thats a standard price...BigNate might do a really nice job and charge more for it.

$60-80 is a fair install price. $100 for back up camera. $60-80 for steering wheel controls. IMO...

Or $150 for install plus steering

Not when you think about how much time it would take to do it properly. Lets say an hr to 1.5 hrs on the radio and 1.5 to 2 hrs on the camera considering there is a decent amount of disassembly required to correctly run a camera in a 370 not to mention most Z owners I've worked with want the camera in the factory location which depending on the camera can be somewhat tedious. And $65 on the steering wheel controls is low considering the Bluetooth bypass needed.

No offense but the last place I would be looking for an installer is CL.
I recommend asking if there is someone close to you over on caraudio.com or diymobileaudio.com, there is a section for "Help wanted"

Not at all. If you want the job done right, you need to pay for it. Unfortunately, the items you listed aren't just a plug and play job. There are wires to be run and adapters to be programmed.

IMO, it's worth learning and doing yourself- imagine how many tools you can buy with the money you would pay an installer

A little bit, 65 for steering wheel controls installed and programmed!! My god!

For a head unit camera, and steering wheel controls you would be looking at 200-250 from me.
