Any updates? Getting ready to install the head unit and highs today :-)

vermithrax 06-29-2012 11:38 AM

Looks like several weeks away still from what I can tell. More if you order vinyl covering.

Wicked CAS 07-13-2012 10:16 AM

All boxes are ready.
I wanted to make an instruction page, however I need to get a nother 370Z in here for that.

If you have a deposit please let us know your finish choice Carpet or Vinyl...

I do have 1 spot left on the special.

You have pm.

My volunteer 370Z is away for a months traveling for business.
Instead of holding the boxes here... I would like to see if you all wanted to get them without instructions as it may be a while to get instruction with pictures and all done... All along we were planning on using the cargo net clip mounting holes to secure the box in place, we have dimples set in the mold to see where the holes will need to be drilled.... Just need to come up with wha hardware is needed what size etc... If you have a nutsert tool it will make install easier, as you can insert a nut in the existing hole and use a bolt to secure in place...

If you all are ok with getting the enclosures with no hardware we can ship them out today... they are all ready to go... Ofcourse we would love some feedback on Install and instructions from you all... we will use your feedback and pictures and put together an install page on the website.

If you are planning on taking the box to a shop they will have all the tools needed. We already made arrangement with the first order placed for the box for install help.

vermithrax 07-20-2012 12:25 PM

I called yesterday, to ask about shipping and requested that you send my box as is. So, yes, please ship my box as soon as you can. I will figure out a way to install it. Thanks.

MDG-Z 07-20-2012 08:09 PM

hmmmm. yeah, fug it. go ahead and send it, i'm sure i can figure out how to mount it up.

Fly1 Motorsports 07-21-2012 09:37 AM

Agree w/ the guys...we can figure it out and post pics as we install; or ask questions here. Can't be rocket surgery :). Lookin forward to it!

It fits perfectly and the JL10W3 sounds amazing!

vermithrax 07-22-2012 02:10 PM

helidriver, how did you get your box already? Also, how did you instal it? I still have no shipping details from Wicked CAS, even after calling them and asking for it to ship.

RITDR 07-22-2012 04:05 PM

Helidriver, Where did you mount your amp?
Box looks very nice BTW!

I just asked them to ship it and it arrived yesterday. The holes the hooks came out of are 5/16. I had to cut the carpet back on the box to see the indention for the mounting holes. I found some anchors at Sears Hardware that worked okay, but I wasn't able to cinch them down as tight as I'd hoped for. The box is secure enough that I don't have to worry about it sliding around, but I think I will redo the mounts when I find a better alternative.

The amp is under the floor in the area in front of the spare tire.

vermithrax 07-23-2012 04:47 PM

Woot! Mine shipped.

Well that gets me hard. Mine shipped? Held up my install for my new head unit to do it all together and have the total package. WOOOOO! (Still want a right side matching!)

My corner box arrived today. Looks great, and fits like a glove. Good work Wicked CAS. Now to get my speaker and amp hooked up. I'll post a review of how it sounds, and how I secured the box once I have everything together.

Fly1 Motorsports 07-28-2012 12:17 AM

At this time we only have one side. 370Z trunk corners are not symmetrical. It woud be difficult to make an enclosure set that are matching... Besides in our opinion single 10" in that trunk is plenty of bass for most people.

Nixlimited 08-02-2012 12:28 PM

Wow, this is what I have been waiting for. Need to check this sub-forum more often, haha. So what is current price on enclosure plus 10w3v3?'

Also, what is total weight of enclosure + sub?

DR_ 08-02-2012 12:35 PM

How hard is it to get to the spare tire with this installed?

$349.95 Carpet finish + shipping
$499.95 carpet finish with a Subwoofer JL 10w3v3 + shipping
You can add an amp for more savings...
More you buy more you save.

Weight of the box is the 9.5-10 lbs, plus whichever subwoofer you choose.

Not hard at all, simply fold the carpet over it.

I have a platform beneath the carpet that I assume the box sits on top of. Maybe it doesn't go all the way to the corner though...

vermithrax 08-03-2012 10:43 AM

Because of the corrugated plastic platform under the carpet, the spare is going to be tough to get to. I haven't installed mine yet, but I am considering cutting the plastic, or scoring it so that it bends.

I may also just secure the box with velcro or something, so I can take it out when needed. It definitely isn't as easy as flipping the carpet up, as the plastic platform goes all the way across.

Haven't figured it out just yet.

I considered Velcro myself but figured the weight of the box would cause the carpet to slide around.

vermithrax 08-03-2012 04:53 PM

Heli, now that you actually have the box installed, how hard is it to get to the spare? Did you modify anything to make it easier?

djtodd 08-03-2012 08:44 PM

Awesome work.

Just a comment. It would probably be beneficial/preferred by some of us to have the box on the passenger side. It would really help with corner balance. Drives side makes the problem worse :)

ryan370zpower 08-03-2012 09:52 PM

I want to know how it sounds. Anyone actually use it yet? Any weird vibrations or rattles? I want a nice clean hitting sub in the trunk

Honestly, I didn't even think about the spare, so I'm not sure.

Corrugated platform can be bent on the sub box line. or possibly cut and taped back together with 2" or 3" Black Tape to be able to fold up at the seem when spare tire needs to be taken out.

Can one of you see if the platform will slide out of the way and be pushed back in?

Velcro has worked for some people,,, I do not recommend it.

vermithrax 08-06-2012 09:58 AM

Once I get mine installed I'll post what I came up with. I will probably wind up cutting or folding the cardboard as you recommended. Hopefully I will only need to access the spare once a year or so.

Any luck on getting installation instructions together yet?

G Fo12ce 08-06-2012 11:29 AM

I have a Nismo and yes it already had the anchors for the cargo cover but did not come with the cover. I bought a cargo cover used from someone who was tracking the car. So this will not work if you have the cover?

It really helps with glare off the back glass and hides my laptop bag. Not willing to give it up.

Did you ever resolve the spare box not fitting with the spare on the Nismo for some reason?
