Default Advice on components.

Ok, so I am finally working on putting a system in the Z, it was one of the first things I said I was going to do... but I never got around to it.

After being at a car show this weekend and hearing some systems I decided I would start piecing it together again.

I was originally going to go with all JL, I currently have a 12w6, 500/1 v2, and a 300/4 v2. I was going to go with the c5-650's but after reading I could get better for less I decided to look around more.

It seemed that a lot of people liked the Image Dynamic ctx65cs's.

My question for you guys is if there are any better options for lets say under $200. Whatever I get will be paired with the 300/4.

Any advice [for the most part] is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry about that. I get very busy sometimes. Could of been a time when I was doing class, being that it was a year ago I was a full time student and full time at work.

Image dynamics, and focal would give you a great sound.

ID would be a smoother sound where as the focal would give you a brighter sort of "in your face" sound.

My money would go for the ID's

No sweat on the not responding then, I apparently wasn't ready to buy stuff then anyways... Haha.

Looks like I will probably go with the ID's then. I've yet to see anything bad about them really.

I'm not sure how those others sound, but I went with Infinity Kappa based off of various reviews and price. I have little basis for comparison as I can only really comment against the stock speakers. The Kappas are stronger than my ears can take. The tweeter is broad in regards to the range of notes it delivers, and seems to have an 'in your face' presence...very strong as if it thinks it's a 4in speaker. I use a 10in sub and no rear speakers. I also use a 4 channel Alpine amp for the Kappas. The crossover modules fit inside the front kick panels.
I did not need to use spacers for the install, but I had to rig up the mounts a little...all included. Amazon is your friend.

This is a subjective thread, so just offering you this option.

I went with the Hertz Hi-Energy component speakers, but in the end it is all up to you & what you actually want to spend.

+1....... These are effen awesome. Go with the HSK 165XL & this is what I have as my component speakers. I have & the JL Audio HD600/4 running them along with two JL Audio 6W3's. Everything is getting 150 watts (RMS for everything) & it is perfect.

Alpine type R components....Under 175.00.....
and if you only want to spend under a 100 get the type S components

Make sure both are always paired with a 80 RMS x1 as these speakers need them.
