Silly Question: Stock Nav + Aftermarket Screen

Searched around a bit, but couldn't find any details.

Has anyone with a factory nav system installed a secondary aftermarket unit (e.g., for playing movies)? Pretty much having two screens worth of fun. (?)

Seen this kind of set up in 350s, but couldn't find anything on the boards for a 370 with stock nav.

You can simply add a second screen to your cubby and wire your video games and such directly to it, than use the AUX input of your nav system for audio. Is that what your asking?

If you have the stock Nav system, you don't have a cubby.

on that one.

I am not sure where you would put one than, you can add a parking brake bypass and use the video inputs in the center counsel to add things. Other than that I am not sure.

Yeah...if I have the factory nav, replacing the cd/radio-knob area with a double-din unit/screen. So I'd have the nav up top and a dvd screen or something below it.

Than how would you control anything if you removed the knobs? I do not think what your looking for is possible. If I remember correctly the 350z's nav system was not integrated into the car, "from what I recall" where as the 370z's is. So you are limited a lot more to what you can change.

Well then that makes sense :-) New to 370s. Will research the route of playing movies through the factory nav then.

What a lot of people do are add the nav tool video bypass and than use the rca connectors in the center to use either a ipod with video or dvd player. A god place to install a dvd player is the rear compartment for the manual

I love my navtool. It is simple, but amazing. I love having the backup camera, and also the ability for my passenger to watch movies on long trips.

You will not regret buying the navtool.
