Quick wiring question w/ pic

The white/blue wire on the left is from my kenwood HU, the blue/white wire on the right is from the metra harness.

The left wire was labeled, P Cont. and the right one according to the labeling chart is the amp turn on.

My question is does it matter which wire I connect my remote turn on wire from my amp to? Since I think they both do the same thing.

I think P cont means power is on even if the car is off..

from the HU I'm gusssing its switched, only on if car is on or in accessory position.

I don't think you want power to your amp all the time.

Put a voltmeter on them to see what you have. Or call Crutchfield....they are good tech help.

Incorrect, P Cont means the the power will be on continuously when the head unit is on.

You can wire the antenna adapter to this wire if you want. It will not harm anything just will have the antenna on even if your playing a CD.

Some head units only have that wire and no powered antenna wire. If you have a powered antenna wire I would use that. However note that sometimes the powered antenna wire does not supply enough voltage.

My antenna is connected to a wire labeled Antenna CONT. on my HU (I'm assuming this is the powered antenna wire you're referring to?)

So since the P Cont is always on with the head unit, it'd be fine to connect my remote turn on wire from my amp to it right?

I was half right..... A side question, you said that tap might not provide enough voltage, so it might be less than 12 volts?....or did you mean current? A power audio amp would draw a lot more current than a low gain op amp circuit in the antenna.

The current is what I mean. However it is rare that this happens.
