I installed the AVH-P3100DVD last week. It's very time consuming if you want all the bells and whistles. I wound up using a rocker switch for the brake cable connection because it you don't, you need to be stopped with the e-brake pulled to use any advanced menu options. I also installed the blue-tooth and backup camera. I am having trouble finding the reverse gear switch so I can wire it for the camera. I will probably wire another switch for that as well. I have the base model with he "S" package so there are 3 empty rocker switch blanks on the center console. If you want to do it DIY be sure you tape any silver plastic on the console because it scratches easily. Yup I found out the hard way. If you have the money for a professional installer just let them do it.
I am very happy with the AVH-P3100DVD head unit and I got a pair of JBL 6X9's in speaker boxes because the stock speakers are crap. I guess they figure you're going to replace it anyway so they give you a POS to fill he hole in the dash. Now I'm in AV heaven Regards, Paul |
