Easy. On a Scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 2.

As long as you know how to properly disassemble the dash, and crimp the right wires together, it's really simple.

The hardest part is with the Metra Dash kit for a Double Din install, but if you just reuse your stock bracket, it's a synch.

the installs easy as far as taking everything apart and putting it back the wiring was a biatch for me! atleast the grounding and ebrake sensor and the backup cam power wiring.

Did you actually Do the ebrake sensor? I just bought one of the ebay relays and it works like a champ... SOOOOO much easier and only a few bucks so what the hell lol

I gotta get a back up cam before I run those wires though...

I didn't get one with this unit, but I might have previously I can't remember. But I have a plug that goes in the back that's like the larger DJ headset plug.

However yeah, normal radio reception is not too good. But listen to my iPod 95% of the time. Debating on whether or not to get the HD Radio adapter in time, or just breakdown and get Sat radio one day...

NismoZ370 09-01-2011 10:56 AM

yea i got the same plug it has a huge plug and a blue cable. i listen to ipod more then anything but still sucks the radio reception is super weak. Yea i actually did the ebrake sensor until i can find someone to do the mod for me... i dont get along with wires lol. i have the back up cam works great. Also Boot up on the HU is spectacular no delay at all on mine i know some were saying they had a few minute bootup on other units mine is almost instant great!

Can someone confirm if I actually need antenna adapter because I have noticed that the stock radio reception is really bad as it is - so I assume that even with the schosche it does no better????

I use the Schoche antenna adapter and my radio is perfectly fine.

I have yet to lose reception listening to normal FM stations - I actually drop Pandora stations if anything. (AT&T after all :stirthepot:)

Yeah, the boot up on mine is almost instant... lol And no 'boot screen' just straight to my input. My only complaint is it immediately starts playing the ipot. So I have to time it to turn it off before the song starts lol.

Yup, installed it myself. If memory serves me - the antenna harness had a blue wire / white wire / orange wire. There were some posts a while back about people not connecting the orange wire to the main harness - which was the cause of their bad radio reception. May want to give that a try. :tiphat:

Well got mine installed today along with the Axxess ASWC. I had to do the manual programing of the Axxess ASWC.
