Well, what I was saying was...

You have 2 sets of cables for each stereo side (since usually cars do have front and back speakers). Each channel carries 50W (peak), for a total for 200W (peak). Instead of simply connecting the one corresponding channel (front speaker left, for example) to the input of the component crossover, Im asking if its possible to connect (by bridging the cables) both front and rear left speaker outputs from the head unit to the left crossover, thus making use of the extra 50W.

This is actually even giving me a headache... I guess when the time comes Ill simply go with the easy, normal connection and thats it...

And about the ipod / usb connection... How are you guys routing the ipod cable from the back of the receiver towards the front? Any suggestions?

I don't see where it says that the receiver is capable of bridging. If there are no specs for it, I wouldn't advice doing that...you may end up damaging or blowing the amp in the receiver.

Ok. Thanks.

So about the ipod / usb connection... How are you guys routing it? I saw in the original post a picture suggesting that a hole had been drilled in the center compartment. Is that easy to do?

No, this one like many of pioneer's is just available to upgrade...the bluetooth upgrade costs around 130$, Amazon.com: Pioneer CD BTB200 - Cellular phone Bluetooth adapter: Electronics, and you can similarly add GPS and sat radio with different add-on modules.

I second this no head unit is capable of bridging. Also even if the head unit says 50 watts you want to look at the RMS that is what the head unit is really putting out at max power. Usually this is 22 watts.

The older Pioneers, you could Bridge the rears to run a very small sub it gave you 70 watts, but they haven't done this for a while now.

I'm having an issue playing any video on my P4300 that was installed just now. It won't play dvd's period or play the video portion in app control. I had a relay bypass installed but even using ACC it will not play any video just the warning prompt displays. Anybody have any suggestions on what I should try?

Anyone try out HD Radio on the AVH-P4300DVD? Does it have a strong tuner? I bought (and now will be returning) the JVC KW-AVX840 b/c the tuner seems to be quite weak. I'm considering this unit now.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks. Mike

Just installed this HU last weekend, and looking to order the back up cam next, and also wanna get the bypass for the DVD while in motion since trying to find the right wire for the ebrake means removing more panels than I want to. :rofl2:

So for the other guys that have this (and the back up cam) could you post some pics, or a quick DIY on where you mounted the cam, and which wire you tap into?

Also for the ebrake bypass, is this the same as those things I see seven million for sale on ebay? Cause connecting things, I can do. But when it comes to wiring up relays and stuff, I'd prefer not to as I don't have a soldier gun and the right stuff for that. So if I can get one for a few bucks off ebay, is it gonna be the same thing?

There are YouTube videos dealing with the brake bypass. Haven't looked at them, but maybe they can help!

Eh, I said screw it lol. I just bought one, I'll be on a trip for a few days anyways while it ships. It's only a 3 wire connection I can just use taps for, so in the event I switch HU's I can just remove the taps and keep on goin.

I'll take some pics when it arrives.

So far my only complaint with the HU is when I start my car and its on ipod mode, the ipod starts playing instantly. I'm not a fan of that. Other then that, love it so far.

For those that used the auto dimming feature, can you explain (or have a pic of) which wire you tapped into?

MikeUFLAW 08-23-2011 10:49 PM

I appreciate it....I have an appointment for an install on Tuesday....just don't know yet what I'm getting installed...lol. is there any benefit to go with the AVICs other than nav/bt?

XwChriswX 08-23-2011 10:55 PM

I would like to think maybe faster software, but can't imagine the hardware being much different? Aside from everything being internal... But the good thing about this one is I can pick and choose what I want without having to pay for everything. And I can add them as I want them...

Back up Cam
Bluetooth
Navi

In that order.
