Navigation bypass 2011

I have just bought a new fully loaded 370z. Its an order from out of state that will be in next week. Super excited and will post some photos when I get it. Gun metal, sport, auto, touring, navi.

Anyway, my question is, has anyone gotten the navi bypass done successfully so videos and such can be watched while the car is moving? Been searching the net and havent found a comprehensive guide yet.

There are a couple of threads about this around the forum. The one I followed is here http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/1...ck-2010-a.html.
Make sure you scroll down some and read all the posts. The 2010-11 models are different from the 2009's. There are some good pics of the 2010 connectors and wire colors about half way down the page.

thanks axeman.

I saw this thread. Problem is, I did not find it especially comprehensive. I have not undertaken much car modding, it didnt seem like enough info for me to start this endeavor.

Also, at the end of the thread the guy shows a switch installed by the seat heaters. There was no info about this though.

Anyone have any more detailed info with pics.

Thanks

There isn't a more complete install thread that I know of. I also added a backup camera to mine (I have a roadster so rear visibility is very limited). In a thread about the camera install I found a good description of how to remove the dash pieces and radio so you can get to the wires you need to cut. Check out page 2 of this thread: http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...era-dvd-2.html.

As for the switch, you need to interrupt the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) to be able to play DVD's as well as use menu items on the nav that are normally greyed out when the car is moving. You can't permently leave the VSS disabled though or the nav works poorly. So you install the switch to cut the VSS signal only when you need too. People with coupes use the blank button between the seat heaters to mount the switch. I cant do that because on roadsters that's where the top control switch is. I have a 7AT so I mounted my switch where the syncro rev match button is on 6MT cars. Where to mount the switch is up to you.
