Interesting, I am having the same problem with my camera. It sure would be great if it was that simple to fix, especially since that would mean I don't need to pull the dash apart... again

As for the ipod, he is probably right. But I have noticed with mine if it's already plugged in I just hear noise, I have to plug it in after the radio is on and it works fine. Sounds like that might be a different issue though. I haven't updated the software yet either though.

What exact camera problem are you having? The reseting issue or the not being able to select the CMOS 300? If it's the reseting issue, upgrade the firmware it fixed that for me but they changed the volume control with that update so you can't hold the volume button to change volume, you have to click it once for every volume change. Kinda sucks but it fixed the reset issue.
If you can't get the head unit to recognize the camera, it either isn't hooked up properly, or you need to follow my instructions on the previous page to recognize the camera.

It could be both, but it doesn't seem to recognize the camera. I figured I've got a bad camera but haven't been able to confirm that yet. I know it is getting power, but I am gonna try going through the set up again and putting it in reverse anyway just to see what happens.

iPhone 4 and DNX9960

OK guys, here's all the hot poop on the using the iPhone 4 with the 9960.

Cable: By using the the Kenwood KCA-iP301V, you get full fuctionality of the unit. Artwork shows up, page flow works, etc. Works just like my 160GB iPod. *Note: you have to make sure that the iPhone is not connecting as an audio unit (A2DP) or you won't hear anything. You don't have to disconnect the phone part of the Bluetooth, just the audio.

Kenwood - KCA-iP301V

Bluetooth streaming: You have to make sure that the iPhone is connected to using the audio (A2DP) setup. You then use "Bluetooth" as your source. This way gives you play, pause, stop, etc., but no artwork. Basic playback functionality. If you have the steering wheel controls set up (I installed the Metra Axxess ASWC) they will work for changing songs.

Hope this helps you guys.

hey Tree, people complain of the PAC SWI-JACK steering wheel controls has a lag. Does the Axxess one lag between button press and radio performing the command?

Oh the iPod thing - yeah in the kenwood manual it will tell you the cable you need to play the iPod is an optional accessory and doesn't come with the radio- this can be confusing because it has a USB cable hard wired into the head unit labeled 'iPod' but this is to plug in the aftermarket cable you then have to buy to use that usb plug. My kenwood DNX9140 is the same way.

Oh btw, I'm in the process of installing the CMOS-300 into my DNX9140. I had originally hoped that all I would have to do is plug the camera into the head unit, because it is made for kenwoods, but I have to in-fact connect all that "power supply box" and other **** up too, eh, and just make sure to use the headunit control cable, not the supplied control button bull?

The camera is definitely an adventure to install. I did mine twice because I first installed it like everybody said to with the backup wire controlling the power. MISTAKE. Once I hooked the power to accessory, then everything worked great. I can turn the camera on and off with the HU and when I go in reverse.

As far as the Axxess. I don't notice any lag at all except when controlling my iPod, but that is only when I try to skip multiple songs and I believe it's the iPod, not the controller. I listen and control Pandora via Bluetooth on my iPhone all of the time and it responds very quickly. There is night-and-day difference IMO between the PAC and the Metra.

[QUOTE=TreeSemdyZee;876935]Awesome.If you want to be able to turn the camera on without being in reverse, you'll have to run the power wire to your auxiliary power. Mine is that way and I can push and hold my "AUD" button and the camera turns on without being in reverse.
By doing this, you can access the camera in any gear. Reverse will turn it on, but you can also trigger it with the "AUD" button.

So i installed a kenwood CMOS-200 and have a picture in reverse but nothing when i hold the button to view while driving. I have the reverse tapped into the reverse light and the power tapped into a red accessory power source...is this not correct?

BigAudio, Treeseemedy, and other audio studs, help me pls. Just got my Kenwood DNX9960 and cmos 300 bu camera installed and everything works great except my installer said that the dnx9960 has internal camera adjustments onboard so he didnt install the backup camera button. We couldn't figure out how to make the headunit recognize the camera. When you select it, the screen changes and it asks you if you want to view your camera. It doesnt actually recognize the cmos300. So my question is, how do I make the dnx9960 recognize the cmos 300 bu camera? Thanks!

So you didn't get the button to change views? Isn't that the whole point of having the CMOS-300?

But did you ever end up getting the button? It makes it super easy to change between the 4-5 different camera angles.

You don't need the button with the dnx 9960. You control it all from the head unit. For instance if I wanted to change camera angles, I simply would touch the right side of the screen.
