XM Subscription
So.... has anyone purchased a subscription? Or will you purchase after your trial? I got a call today from XM because my subscription will expire soon, they offered 90 more days for $20.97. I thought that was pretty good for 3 more months. I just have to remember to cancel after the 90 days. But anyway...if you're interested in a subscription just wait until your trial is about to expire and get the 90 day deal.

I have base but I had xm before. You're right, they offer you so much deals when you call them to either discontinue or cancel subscription. one year ago, they actually offered me $4/month for 12 months if I stay with them because I told them I am going with Sirius. Now that's a crazy deal.

I like the XM traffic feature that integrates quite well with the Nav.....an additional $4 a month in addition to the basic subscription fee.......nickles and dimes.

I won't be getting a subscription atm, sicne I'm not a big radio fan, but my dealership gave me a year subscription on them, which is active. I haven't used it yet... I dunno, I learned to hate XM radio when I had a job at starbucks all those years ago. That **** was annoying.

I had Sirius for 1 year. I found it to be a waste of money.

50s/60s R&R, opera from the Met, a dedicated blues channel...that's what I'm talkin' about. I signed up.

I love XM, they have two awesome classic R&B/Disco stations. I will use AK's advice when I want to port over.
|
Yes, thanks AK, I will be waiting for the call from XM.
|
Yes... I called and set up a continuing subscription with the best of Sirius. I like being able to listen to CNBC and such on the way in to work.
|
So now that they are merged, do you get stern on xm?
|
I believe you need to add the Best of Sirius to get that stuff. That's what I had to do for CNBC/NASCAR/etc.

Honestly, this is the first time i've ever listened or used XM satellite (or any Satellite radio) before until I bought my 370Z /w Nav/Touring.
I *really* enjoy it.. it's like having high-quality internet radio in the car.. I used to use my 3g iPhone in my Scion tC via interface cable and I would stream internet radio from it.. negatives there were that the ipod cable wouldn't charge my 3g iPhone and my signal would go flakey and my streaming would stop. Now the only caveat i'm experiencing with the car's built in Satellite is that it's SOOOOO sensitive.. I can be driving under a FEW trees and the signal goes flat for those moments but luckily syncs back up in 1 second or less. All in all, i'm leaning towards a year package at the end of my free 3-months... I'll bargain with them and see if they can discount me for a year's worth + nav traffic. Now if only our systems had built-in HD radio tuners =( How are they going to give us everything else, except HD radio... lolwut? -Div |
This may be a little bit of a rant, but why does xm/sirius have DJs? I mean, it's all electronic now, so there is no real need for them. In fact, they bug me, because they interrupt my music.
For a company that's always teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, you would think someone at xm would go, "why do we have all these DJs again?" |

Atleast there's no advertising (that i've noticed). |
^ i had sirius for a couple months, mainly for stern, and they had the balls to advertise there. Not sure if they still do, it's been a year or more.
