If you really like boom then up firing 2 12's will be great. In an area as small as the Z it wont matter if they face up or back.

If you really like boom then up firing 2 12's will be great. In an area as small as the Z it wont matter if they face up or back. Those amps and your alternator will handle it no prob.
If your wanting to change to a little more toned down and sound quality setup then a single 12 facing back is the way to go. As for the fronts use 6.5's. As was said before components are the way to go in this car (easy install and sounds the best). If money is tight and the speakers you already have are coaxial you can run them for a while, until you get components, as they are still better than the stock equipment. You didn't mention anything about a new head unit?
