Default Z120BT Video Encoding Parameters and Step

Arg... so I spent hours today trying to get a reliable set of parameters to set in handbrake (video transcoder) to always spit out vids that the HU will be able to play. TONS of trial an error. Page 211 in the manual was kind of helpful.. however does not seem to be 100% accurate.

I do feel however that i am very close, once i get it down perfectly, ill post up a DIY with all the correct params and step.

What I want to do reliably, and i think i will just automate the whole thing once I figure it out... is take youtube vids and rip them in a way that will play on the HU. I am almost there.

EDIT 1:
So for handbrake, if i force the max width to be 640 or less, the container to be mp4, the coddec to be mpeg, use the default quality setting, the videos seems to work. In addition, i forced the frame rate to be 29 as opposed to the same as source.
I was trying to use MKV/h.264 as mentioned in the manual, however the videos did not play. So as of right now, these are the best settings i can get. Will work on boosting the quality after i confirm that all my planet earths and lord of the rings, as well as random youtube videos will convert properly.

Are you putting the vids on a disc or iPod or card?

Did you check Avic411, I read a lot of interesting information on video encoding there. The bitrate and video resolution you use depends on what media it's playing from, SD, usb, or DVD.
