I will say it has a great screen though.
However I am not going to judge people for what they choose to use. If it works for you it works for you. |

Na I will pass I have had to setup a few for people.
True molaman a few people tell me that. |
After reading everyone's posts i just wanted to add that i purchased a new nismo a few months ago and of course you only get the very low end system installed and it is indeed crap. Granted when in a nismo music is not the first priority but you do expect more from the name Bose.

You can keep the bose head unit and the bose amps just have to use a mtx re-q 5 and new amps to run new speakers. You would burn out the bose amps if you ran the speakers off them and would not sound right either.

Why anyone thinks they are going to have audiophile-spec sound in a quite noisy 370Z is beyond me

I'm an avid audio hobbyist, and have been for too many years.
As said before, Bose is a marketing company first, and while I haven't heard their pro stuff, it's pure amazing how they're able to sell their consumer stuff. For instance, the tweets in the Z? Paper cones, I believe - really? Put a paper cone on a "high-end" speaker at home and you'll get laughed at... ...wait - their Acoustimass series speakers are also paperconed - correct? Now, many other manufacturers use paper cones (mostly treated, doped, etc.); but there's a reason why Bose doesn't publish the frequency response specs of their cube speakers - you'll laugh. Believe it or not, I think the Bose in the Z isn't all that bad (but it's gonna get replaced REAL soon). The high frequencies are a bit grainy, and will get strident/stressed when you turn it up. The bass, coming from the spare tire, is actually a bit decent sounding. But for $3000? U got marketed, baby... |

For what it is worth I took my entire Bose system out and replaced everything. |
Thanks again.....+1 for you...
Where did you buy your car? I might be ordering my 2011 in Hotlanta |
I got mine from Stone Mountain Nissan but they didn't have any in stock so they traded a car for mine and went to N.C. to get it.
|
i know you guys say bose blows and maybe so.....
but right now it would sound pretty good to me.... i've got the base system in my 09 and starting to upgrade.. starting with jbl's then on to HU..... the sound system in a rouge is better then the stock system in a 370.... |

i am not pleased listening to XM satellite radio because the treble is much to intense..

I am an audiophile like many others here, but for me, a name should only lead you to listen to a specific brands products in audition - not to buy something without first listening. Once you listen, everything else comes down to what you are willing to pay for, personal taste and what kind of music you like to hear.
Most would agree that Martin-Logan is high end stuff, my brother loves it, I don't. (But we both love my Mirage OMD-28 speakers) So the fact that many of us here look down on Bose should not make any one who is satisfied with Bose decide to upgrade. If you like your Bose - God Bless - you will save the ridiculous sums of money some of us have paid to upgrade. So just listen and enjoy, and ignore the yapping of the audio nuts like me. It is entirely possible to upgrade your speakers and amps but leave the head unit in place with everything working seamlessly together. I have a 2013 Sport Touring with Nav. I upgraded with an Audio Control LC8i - this is the heart of the system and makes it possible to use the head unit with aftermarket amps and speakers. Even with the Bose in place the best thing you can do to improve your listening experience is sound dampening. Anything and everything in the car will sound better with less noise in the car |

No I have not had any issues with whine or interference.I suspect the cabling plays a major role here though I can't give you specifics regarding my cabling off the top of my head as it was done by a professional shop.
I will say though that I am only leaving the Bose head unit in place temporarily to simplify the install and due to budget constraints. I have no doubt that, despite the massive improvement in sound quality with what I have done, my quality is still significantly restrained by the head unit. Garbage in, garbage out as they say, and as I have not been able to find info on the BOSE DAC, I can only assume it as as inferior as the rest of the system. I am open to suggestions regarding a premium double DIN head unit. Not just regarding pure audiophile quality, but also the quality of the user interface, automated sorting of USB music files, and versatility in handling audiophile codecs such as FLAC, WMA lossless etc. |

missing the reproduction of beautiful Utopia Be Focal speakers.
I remember when the Boston Acoustic Z's speakers came out, so long ago. They were the best on the market for car audio, sounded so good. |
