That's true. Navteq does not offer updates for Nissan HDD nav systems. This is because the Euro model Zs all have a disk based nav system - different from US model Z cars. I don't know about UK Zs. They seem to be on their own program, but last I heard they were all DVD based navs as well.
In the States if you want to get a nav update you have to go through the dealer who use a special computer to install the updates. Here in Europe you can just buy the DVDs from Navteq and do it yourself. Unfortunately the two systems are not interchangeable. If you have a US car the nav will NOT work in Europe and if you have a European Z the nav will NOT work in the US. |
