Question Double DIN Navi with steering wheel controls..?

So I'm considering installing an aftermarket double-din navi with bluetooth. However, I'm curious, has anyone installed one and used the car's existing mic and steering wheel controls? Is this even possible? What navi did you get? My current set up comes with the Bose sound system, bluetooth and the 6 cd changer. Which I like, but I am bummed that there is no audio streaming through the bluetooth. My only real gripe about the stereo. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Yes you can. There is an adapter that you can buy to enable that. I only have a base Z, but I went to the same car audio store this guy on a youtube video went to and had his Bose system changed out to a Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT. I got the newer Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH however.

Yes the adapter you need is a metra axxess. You should always run the new mic that comes with your head unit for best performance. However I have installed the new mic in the factory location with no problems.

This is what I have and you just buy the Pioneer SWS steering wheel control module. Make sure you get the one for Pioneer head units though and don't buy the Alpine/Kenwood one like I did initially whee.

Your talking about the pac devices? Get the metra OP much faster and you can use them with any brand head unit.

If you look up by your dome lights you will see 2 sort of like slit openings, the one on the left is where the factory mic is in the bose nav system.
