Default Audio Install Project Layout

Hi all,

Im posting my audio install project layout.

Please feel free to chime in with your comments and suggestions.

Head Unit:
Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT

Enclosure:
ZEnclosure (Re-upholstered using grey and black sued to match the interior a little better)

Subwoofer:
JVC 10" Arsenal DVC 4ohm

Amp:
Alpine PDX-F4 200wattsx2 @ 4-OHM

Door Speakers:
Polk db 6.5s

Im not looking into super deep bass, I mostly listen to metal, hard rock, some rap.

I am not an audio expert. So if anything looks odd with my setup please feel free to chime in.

Thanks for reading.

Are those component speakers or coaxials? I would go with components.

Nice Head Unit and sub box. I don't know much about that sub. Good luck with your install.

Not really, but I am not going to be audio competing and I plan on doing every bolt on performance and exterior. So not trying to waste too much money on audio.

I would go with Polk Components (db6501) myself.

Don't know much about the head unit, but Pinoeer doesn't seem to be very popular around here LOL. Sure you'll get a lot of recommendatioons for Kenwood or Alpine though

Haha. I have had pioneer head units and I have had no problems, I have never owned an Alpine or Kenwood unit so I am uncomfortable going that route.

Do components. You won't need another amp.
If you put in coax, then you're powering even more speaker than doing components. You'll have the coax in the door plus the current tweets on the dasy (which suck much wind BTW).

X2 change them to components much better sound and no reason why not to have them when you have a spot for tweeters to go. Plus you do not need to buy an amp to run them.

For a sub go with polk or rockford fosgate not jvc.

I would go Boston PRO 60se component set with the PDX F-6 for a little more punch.

Also spend a little more on the sub and you will be much happier. JVC not so much.

The bostons would not be as efficient without using a amp. The polk db's work well without a amp and as he stated he does not want to add a amp. I do agree about the sub though.

Isn't the PDX F-4 a 2/3/4 channel amp? That should be capable of running the sub bridged on one channel and the components off the other channel. NO? Seems logical to me anyway, thought the F-6 would give the extra power.

What ever works for ya though.

He does have the PDX F-4 shown in his pics NO?

He is getting the 2 channel one not the 4 channel.

Alpine PDX-F4 200wattsx2 @ 4-OHM

But I think he means the F2 unless he is not sure.

If he does go with the F4 I would still recommend the polk db's cheaper and they have smoother sound imo.

ALPINE no longer makes a PDX 2 ch only. They did make the PDX-2.150.

PDX-F4 4/3/2 Power Density Digital Amplifier

CEA-2006 Power Rating
100W RMS x 4 (4Ω,<0.05% THD+N, 14.4V)
