Ok so I'm a little confised about something. This cable (Pioneer CD-IU50V) I've read is only necessary when you want to play video from your iPod, other wise the USB

Ok so I'm a little confised about something.

This cable (Pioneer CD-IU50V) I've read is only necessary when you want to play video from your iPod, other wise the USB on the front can be connected to it with any regular iPod cable.

The thing is I don't want a cable conected to the front. Is it safe to assume the CD-IU50V cable connects to the back of the head unit so I can then run it to another area (glove box or where ever).
